Third Person's POV
Mara's catching so much attention because of her rush. She's running with no exact path like a killer is after her.
As she tries to run down the hall, she had to dodge students coming straight at her from the other direction. At the same time, her feet were being stepped on by the students pushing from behind.
They're like cattle being herded to the pasture.
“What's with her?” some students began gossiping, “Isn't she the new kid?”
“Hey! It's Seojun!” another girl gasped. Well, he is popular not just for being a bad boy but also for his charms which made him a heartthrob of their campus.
“Oppaaaaaa~” Girls began going crazy because of his presence, but they were shocked to see bloodstains on his face and clothes, “My goodness, what happened to him?”
Seojun screamed, “COME BACK HERE!!” He chose to ignore them and continue running after Mara.
“Is he chasing her?” one of them asked as Seojun just bypassed them. “Why is he running after that b***h?!”
“No, wait. Don't tell me…” another girl reacted, “DON'T TELL ME SOMETHING IS GOING ON BETWEEN THEM!”
“THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE. SEOJUN IS MINE!!” Then they began arguing and assuming.
Meanwhile, Mara's feet brought her to the highest place of their school. The rooftop. She then sat on a bench there and tried to catch her breath.
Seojun gave up on chasing her. He lost her track when she ran through an ocean of students on the way.
“Phew! I thought I was going to die,” she yelled her lungs out.
“Oh my, I think I need to look for a new school again,” she said, thinking that her peaceful life will be miserable because of what will happen if she continues to stay in this Academy. “But my parents will surely be mad at me. Or worse, disown me.”
Her parents are both abroad for their family's business. And she's living on her own in an apartment not so distant from the school. Her parents still give their support for her, though. She just chose to move out of their house and start living life on her own. Her parents can't do anything about it anyway, so they just let her.
“What am I going to do now?” she asked herself and scratched her head in frustration, “I can't attend the afternoon class because he'll be there,” she looked up and heaved a deep sigh. “What do I do?”
Seokmin's POV
The boys and I are in our port for lunch. Yes, we have our spot here since Joowon's family owns this Academy. Only the six of us are the ones who have the right to enter this room.
All of us are here except for the eldest, Seojun.
“Where the hell did that fool go?” our leader asked, raging from anger.
“Maybe he just needed to do something about school,” I said, trying to calm him down.
“Pfft!” Minyoung laughed at me, “Since when did that punk become so interested in studying?”
“Or he's bullying someone again. Getting someone else's food or money?” Daehyun said while reading a comic book, “He always does that for fun.”
“Or maybe he got bullied?” Myungdae implied, which made all of us look at him. “Why are you all looking at me like that?”
“THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!” we all said in chorus and burst out laughing.
“Sorry for being late,” then we turned all of our attention to the door when we heard a familiar voice. Well, except for Myungdae who's busy playing with his phone.
It's Seojun. His nose has evidence of blood, and he's catching his breath, obviously from running.
“Told you so,” Myungdae whispered. Maybe he already saw him ahead. That's why he said Seojun is the one who got bullied.
“What happened to you?” Joowon asked him.
“Did you pick a fight again?” Daehyun seconded.
“No,” Seojun simply replied, “I got punched by some stupid crazy transfer kid who happened to be a girl,” he honestly and straightforwardly said, which made everyone burst to laugh again.
A transfer kid who happened to be a girl? Could it be… Yoon Mara?
“You got hit by a girl?! Ridiculous!” Minyoung said, still in laughter.
“Stop laughing. This isn't even amusing,” Seojun said in a low tone. Everyone stopped giggling because we can all feel his anger.
“Who's the girl, by any chance?” I asked in the calmest way I can.
“I don't know her name, but… she's the new girl in our class,” he replied, and my eyes widened in shock.
This is bad.
“Because of her, many students are gossiping about me,” Seojun said, clenching his fists. “And as expected, gossips leaked as fast as lightning.”
“So, what are we going to do?” Minyoung asked.
“Guys, look at this,” Myungdae stood up from lying on the sofa to show us something on his phone, “It reads in its caption: The bad boy got punched by a newly transferred girl.”
It's a video clip of him and Mara when she punched him right on his face.
“Ow, that surely hurts!” Daehyun reacted, “She's quite a fighter, huh?”
I glanced at Seojun to see his reaction and saw his face turn red from anger.
This is awful.
“Get that girl and bring her to the school gym tonight. She needs to get a taste of her punishment,” Seojun said, and none of us can disagree with that. He's the eldest, and we can't resist any of his words; not our leader, either. “We'll let her know who she's trying to fight against.”
I need to look for Mara and warn her. This is not good.
I waited for her beside her locker, just in case she passed by to get something. The classes are now over and the others are somewhere else looking for her as well.
“Seokmin?” I heard someone call me, “Seokmin!” it’s a girl's voice whisper-shouting my name, “Behind you stupid.”
I turned around and saw her hiding behind a wall, peeking her head for me to see her. “Mara? Goodness, Mara,” I immediately approached her and to my surprise, she pulled me to hide with her.
“Help me,” she uttered, “Seojun and his crazy friends are looking for me. I saw them around,” then gripped on my collar, “Seokmin, I'm scared.”
“Mara…” I looked down, “They're my friends,” I confessed, which made her step back. “And stop, we’re not crazy.”
“What?”
“But I'm not going to hurt you. I'm here to help you,” I said, trying to get her trust back.
“What? Why? They're your friends. Are you betraying them?”
“No. It's because you're my friend too, and you're in danger,” I held her on her wrist, “Seojun is going to punish you. He's terrifying when he gets mad. And since you're a girl, and a friend of mine… I won't let him.”
“Punish? What kind of punishment? Why would he even punish me? He did me wrong first.”
“You can't do anything, Mara. I know him well. We need to get you out of here,” I said and began pulling her, but as soon as we stepped out…
“Good job, Seokmin,” we heard a voice. We turned around to see it, and it was Seojun.
Oh, no.
