9 Duncan straightened and took a deep breath. He looked at Anne’s calm expression. Remembering the sudden pain and the warmth of Anne’s hand, he stated, “You have a gift for healing.” Anne shrugged a shoulder. She didn’t know or trust Duncan well enough to share that part of herself. She once again held out her arms, wrists together, to be bound. Duncan sighed and obliged. He didn’t tie the knot as tight as he had previously. He gripped her on either side of her waist and, ignoring the buzzing, lifted her so she could swing her leg over Friend’s back. Once settled, he removed his hands, and the buzzing stopped. Thoughtfully, he again placed his hand on her thigh, and again the buzzing sounded. He removed his hand, and the buzzing stopped. Anne looked down at him and quirked an eyebrow.
