SERAPHINA
She shouldn't have done that, but it was too late.
Serena returned the punch double, and her lips burst.
“Fool... I'll make you pay.”
Maren came closer and whispered something into her ear, and then a smile formed on Serena's lips.
She released Seraphina's hair.
Seraphina's chest rose and fell.
“Take her with me,” she ordered the guards, and they grabbed Seraphina by her arm and dragged her roughly out of the dungeon.
Where were they taking her to?
She didn't struggle.
She just let it happen.
They arrived at a big chamber door.
“Where is my love?” she asked the guard by the door.
“They are at the King's chamber,” the guard replied with a bow.
Serena took another direction, probably heading to the King's chamber.
The King's chamber?
The one who was responsible for her sister's death.
They arrived at the door, then Serena pushed it open and ran in while the guards dragged Seraphina and dropped her violently on the floor.
Serena burst into fake tears—it was probably the plan Maren whispered into her ear.
“What happened?” Seraphina heard a voice.
“A slave punched me and also accused me of being a w***e. I was just passing by the dungeon. Even Maren was there. You know how much I hate being called a w***e,” Serena cried.
She is doomed.
“Is it true?” another voice asked.
“Yes, it is, Your Majesty. I'm Maren,” Maren testified.
“What should we do to this one?” another voice said excitedly.
She heard footsteps approaching, but she didn't move.
Moon Goddess...
Save her.
Her heartbeat increased, her fingers trembling slightly.
“Stop,” one of the voices said.
The footsteps stopped.
“Raise your head,” Theron ordered.
Slowly, Seraphina lifted her head.
Her eyes met with a middle-aged man seated on his throne.
Black hair, sharp jawline, and golden eyes like the ones she had seen before.
He must be the King.
The monster.
“Daughter of Cassiel, your family really loves our blades, but that would make Cassiel go mad and break my rule. You're my leverage, so why not give you a suitable punishment?” Theron smirked.
Anger surged through her.
They killed her sister.
Her jaw clenched.
The King turned to another man.
Golden eyes.
Black hair.
Sharp jawline.
He must be the prince.
“Give her the perfect punishment, and don't disappoint me, or else you will face the punishment instead.”
Their resemblance was enough to let her know they were the same.
Monsters who stepped over people because they were above others.
Seraphina's eyes met with his golden ones.
He stared a little longer.
“Are you going to announce her punishment, or will you continue staring?” the man with a sword in front of her said.
He was the one who wanted to end her.
He doesn't resemble the King, nor does the other man who is seated happily with a grin on his lips.
What's there to be happy about?
Serena's gaze darted to Derek.
“She is becoming a slave, right? So her workload will be doubled, and she will work an hour after the other slaves are in the camp,” Derek ordered.
Seraphina turned to him.
That's the punishment?
No torture or something?
“Seems fair. After all, she will be working here for the rest of her life,” the King said.
Liam stormed out of the court, and Serena followed as she glared at Seraphina.
“Get this girl out of here,” the King ordered.
Then the guards came and dragged her out.
They dragged her back to the dungeon.
Seraphina sat on the cold floor.
She couldn't sleep.
Many things had happened within a few weeks—her sister died, she was forced into becoming a slave, she slept with her enemy, and now her workload had doubled.
How much can she endure?
Will she eventually give up when it becomes too much?
Her father promised to save her, but what if it's too late?
They are cursed.
They ruined her life.
She won't let them go.
She will find her way through here.
Eventually, she fell asleep, and the next morning arrived.
The guards dragged her out until they reached a stage like an arena.
Chains were tied around both her wrists and legs.
They—the Lycans—were watching.
They pushed her to her knees.
The heavy chains brought her down.
Laughter erupted.
Out of the furnace, a metal brand was brought.
A wolf with cut fangs was designed on it.
Another guard tore her clothes.
She held them tightly so her breasts wouldn't slip out.
She felt a sharp pain.
The metal pressed into her skin.
She let out a scream.
Tears poured down her cheeks.
These monsters must pay.
They will pay.
She will ruin each and every one of them.
They ruined her life, and she would ruin theirs.
Her gaze met a pair of golden eyes.
