Episode 4 : New Beginnings

The sun was shining bright as Grace and Shane made their way to their new high school. Grace was a bit nervous, but Shane kept assuring her that everything would be alright. They reached the school gate and made their way to the classroom.

As they entered the classroom, the first thing they noticed was the noise. The other students were excitedly catching up with each other after the long break. Shane found her classroom, "Bye Grace, see you later!" she said. Grace found her seat and tried to study the room. She looked around for familiar faces from their elementary school but soon realized that she is the only one from their previous school.

Grace felt a bit disheartened since she was hoping to see some old friends. As she waited for the teacher to arrive, Grace started chatting with the other students. They were a mix of friendly and not-so-friendly people, but Grace managed to fit right in.

The bell rang, and the teacher walked in, introducing herself as Ms. Diaz. She welcomed everyone back to school and handed out the syllabus for the year. Grace felt a bit overwhelmed with all the subjects. She said, “Alright, let's start this new year with a bang. I want you all to introduce yourselves to the class.” The room got quiet as everyone nervously looked around.

The introductions went on, and Grace finally got the courage to stand up and introduce herself. “I'm Grace, and I love reading and writing stories,” she said, making eye contact with some of her new classmates.

Ms. Diaz was satisfied with the introductions and decided to give the class their first assignment. She said, “For your first assignment, I want you to write an essay about your favorite place to go to when you need to get away from everything. It can be a real place or an imaginary one.”

The class groaned in unison, but Grace was excited. She loved writing, and this assignment seemed right up her alley. The day went on, and Grace and Shane walked out of school, excited about their new friends and their upcoming assignment.

As they walked home, Grace asked Shane, “What do you think? Do you like high school so far?”

Shane replied, “I love it. I already made some new friends, and I really like our new teacher.”

Grace smiled and said, “Me too. I think this year is going to be great.”
