Episode 1: Elementary Schoolmates

340 Words
Grace was a shy little girl who always kept to herself in class. She never spoke out loud, never answered questions, and never made any friends. She always knew that she was different from the other kids, and she was fine with it, at least that's what she thought. One day, as she was fumbling through the pages of her textbook, she heard a voice. It was a boy's voice, "Hey, are you new here?" He asked, and Grace looked up to see a boy with a mop of blonde hair and bright blue eyes. "Ethan, right?" she asked, remembering what the teacher had mentioned about a new student joining them. "Yup, that's me. I just moved here from Michigan," Ethan said, flashing a grin. It was the beginning of a friendship. Ethan was different from anyone Grace had ever met. He didn't care about the silly things the other kids cared about, like clothes or toys or cartoons. Instead, he loved to draw, to read books, and most importantly, he loved to talk to Grace. Slowly, the two became friends. They sat next to each other in class, worked on projects together, and even hung out after school. Grace was no longer the shy girl she once was. Ethan had brought her out of her shell and showed her how enjoyable it could be to have a friend. One day, as they sat under a tree, eating their lunches, Ethan turned to Grace and said, "You know what, Grace? I think we should get married someday." Grace's eyes widened, and she blushed a deep shade of red. "What do you mean?" she stammered. "Just like in the movies, where the two people who are best friends fall in love and get married when they grow up," Ethan explained, smiling as he looked into Grace's eyes. Grace felt her heart flutter, and even though she didn't fully understand what Ethan meant, she knew one thing for sure. She liked spending time with him, and she hoped they'd always be friends.
