“I’ll become Alice!” I screamed at the Spinner of tales.
“Those are precisely the words I wanted to hear. Welcome to Wonderland, Alice.”
My decision to enter Wonderland was made in an attempt to rescue my friend. The decision to become Alice was all mine.
I was back in the Real World outside my house talking to a happy looking girl whose face was mostly covered by the large hat she wore.
“Ayla, why don’t we stop by that café tomorrow? The cakes there looks delicious.” Her voice sounded like honey on a hot day, sweet and flowing.
“That sounds lovely! Can I’ll send you a letter to set up a time to meet?”
“Yes of course. I’ll look forward to it.”
My friend, she was kind and calm and adorable. I can see why the Spinner of tale took her.
“Ayla, what are you…? Oh, you’re watching the cats?” Luke looked down at me as I crouched by the cats.
“Yes, they all started to gather.”
“That’s nice, but didn’t you want to visit the bookstore today?”
“That’s right. Thanks.”
“It’s no problem. What are old friends for, eh?”
Yes Luke was an old, childhood friend and is now in Wonderland playing the part of the Mad Hatter. How could I have forgotten? I thought I had regained my memories, a feeling of dread settled deep inside me.
