Taking a deep breath, Peggy pulled her mask down and knocked. It was getting dark and she turned to see if she could find her way back. The lights glowing in her own house across the road gave her confidence. To her relief, Miss Urey opened the door instead of Miss King. The secret she shared with Miss King weighed on her conscience. Miss Urey peered straight ahead into the void, instead of looking down. “Who’s there?” “It’s a pirate,” Peggy said. “Are you scared? You sound scared.” Miss Urey looked down.
