Mel’s POV
It’s been two weeks since being back at the club. The past two weeks have been so busy at the florist, having weddings to organise for almost every day is physically and mentally draining. So much so that when I get home I just crash. Tonight I have decided I need to live and the fact the Jasmine has been on my back to go to the club. So I decided why not. Putting on a tight fitting emerald green open back dress, that comes down to just above my knees and paired it with an open toe black heel and I’m ready to go.
Arriving at the club, I knock on the door and Jack answers. “Mel haven’t seen you for a couple of weeks?” Jack says closing the door behind me. “Yeah, I have been busy at work. Is the club busy tonight?” I ask as I’m about to head up the corridor. “There is a few in there tonight. Have a good night Mel.” I wave bye and keep walking. As I walk into the club, the music is going, the two girls on the main stage are slumped over as they had just finished their show, trying to catch their breaths. I look around and spot Jasmine at the bar talking to a guy, she spots me and waves me over. Reaching her, we hug. “Mel this is Jeremy” Jasmine points to the guy, “Jeremy this is Mel, the girl I was telling you about”. I look at Mel a little annoyed and then look at Jeremy and shake his hand. Jeremy is very easy on the eyes. Shaggy brown hair, brown eyes, tall, nicely built. “Hi Mel, it’s nice to finally meet you,” Jeremy says. “It is?” I looked at him confused. “Yes, Jasmine as told me about you,” Jeremy states. “She has?” I question turn to Jasmine only to notice that she has left. Shaking my head as I return my attention back to Jeremy who is shrugging. “Do you want to drink?” Jeremy asks as he gets Sam’s attention. “Why not, rum and coke please.” He looks a little shocked at my choice but Sam gets it straight away. We talk for a while, the conversation is very easy, well mainly on his part. I couldn’t help but think that I’m not seriously engaging in this conversation because I’m just not ready to move on trust again. He then excuses himself and goes to the bathroom. Maybe he is sensing my hesitation and giving me some space. I don’t think I’m ready. Jeremy seems like such a nice guy and I don’t want to lead him on and think that there is something here. When he gets back I’ll tell him so that I don’t keep wasting his time.
Mentally making my decision as I’m leaning against the bar, sipping on my drink and watching the man and woman on the main stage, waiting for Jeremy to come back from the bathroom. Is he taking a long time or is it just me. A guy comes up beside me “Hi” he says. I turn towards him about to say that I’m waiting for someone. Not wanting to be rude to Jeremy. But as I look up, I can’t seem to find any other words other than “Hi”.
