CHAPTER FORTY- NINE: AFTERMATH

Roxanne's eyes fluttered open, her head throbbing in time with the shrill ring of her phone. Sia's "Chandelier" blasted through the speaker, making her wince. She lay on a blanket on the floor, her apartment a mess around her. Wine bottles and junk food wrappers scattered everywhere. As she sat up, her eyes fell on Cynthia, who lay asleep beside her, and, the vibrator laying carelessly next to her. Their clothes were scattered around them, and realisation hits her. Roxanne's face flushed as she remembered the events of the previous night. But before she could recall everything, her phone rang again. She picked it up, her heart racing as she saw her aunt's name on the screen. "Roxanne! Where have you been? I've been trying to reach you," her aunt's panicked voice came through the line.
