DOOR TO DOOR

BACK IN 1922

Holding the gemstone made Leah so astounded that she couldn't resist keeping it in her clutch.

"This is so nice, why am I feeling so cheery.. my heart is pounding million times as I touch this thing?? very weird.. " Leah smiling in the thin air.

She felt that it was already late in the evening, so she decided to sneak out of the wardrobe. The room is in darkness that she have to grope for the light switch. She didn't found it instead she felt a very cold doorknob little by little she turn it and opened the door.

On the corridor, a couple with their baby, wearing an elegantly old fashioned clothes. The man's attire looks like a tunic or shirt with long sleeves and is worn over a usual shirt and woman's dress is a Maria Clara clothing description.

"Booh! babah! Oh! our baby boy you are so cute!" Noli blabbering on his son while caressing in her arms by Ellen, his wife.

Then the couple got distracted when they noticed someone is standing beside them.

"Who are they?! Why is that they are dressed in such clothes?! Is this a costume party??" Leah smiled to them with confusion.

"Miss?!" Edith tend to ask Leah.

"U-uhm I guess I opened the wrong door.. Uhm I am looking for the comfort room.." Leah said.

Before Edith tell the direction she immediately ran into the hallway without looking back.

"Uncle I think she is one of your guests. But the way she dressed is indeed unique!" Edith said to Noli.

"Dear? You have a guest that young?" Ellen asked Noli with raised eyebrows.

"Haha!" Noli laughed scornfully.

Noli Hidlawon is a former worker on a quarrying site. Since he found a very precious gemstone he stopped working there as a miner. Fortunately, he was chosen by the American government to study in United States and he is now a professor in a university in the town where she met Ellen, with same profession.

"Dear.. There's a lot of guests we have in christening our baby Noel.. I can't easily recognised each of them." Explained Noli.

"Okay.. Well then.. Edith! Take Noel to his room. I will help the maids in cleaning the receiving area.

Ellen, also a professor, same with Noli she also studied in United States, though very strict she is a woman with dignity. She is known for being meticulous both in field of work and in home.

"Yes Aunt Ellen." Edith answered politely.

Edith is a twelve year old daughter of Ellen's sister and got adopted by them a year ago.

On the other side..

"This is so strange feeling... what is going on?!" Leah is panting while searching for an another room to hide in.

She stopped in front of the last door located in the right side of the hallway. Far apart from where the people she saw couple of seconds ago. Unknowingly, she is now holding the doorknob.

"Oh my! What is this? I couldn't resist.. Leah! think! " Leah closed her eyes solemnly as she opens the door.

Edith saw her from a distance and tried to stop but no one could stop Leah from entering the room.

Following her heart's intentions made her bewildered.
