Chapter 11 - Meeting Sheila

1657 Words
----Leigh POV---- After the four men left, I made I byline for my room or Kayden’s room really and kind of hid there. I was trying to come up with a reason for them knowing me, but I came up empty every single time. I was completely blanking out and no matter what I thought of the four men, I just didn’t find them in any of my memories. Maybe I had seen them on one of my walks? Most likely not, but that was the closes thing I could come to a reason for them knowing me. I was standing on the balcony when someone suddenly stormed into the room, and I knew it was Kayden without turning abound. “How do you know them?” Kayden’s harsh voice echoed in the room behind me, and I slowly turned around to face him. He was all most shedding, and his angry glare were digging into my eyes, like he was trying to read my thoughts through them. “I don’t know them.” I walked up to the door and tried to make my way through it, without touching him. Not easy when he took up most of the space. He grabbed my wrist and made me turn to face him. “Don’t lie to me girl. It was beyond clear that they knew you.” A low growl erupted from him after the words and his eyes darkened. “I’m not lying. I don’t know them, but that does not mean, that they don’t know me.” I shrugged and then janked my wrist out of his grip, but he was holding on to tight. The effort made the stiches on my arm re-open, and I could feel how the blood started to run down my arm. His glare left my face and fixed on the blood. Like in trance he leaned in and then liked the blood from my arm. His tongue was warm, and sparks erupted in my body, with the new form of sensation. His eyes then locked on to my lips and he wetted his own. Then, as in slow-motion he leaned in and kissed me. I was janked closer, almost tripping at the sudden motion and our lips parted for a second. Without giving me time to think, his lips found mine again and his tongue where begging for entrance to my mouth, with the way it was sliding across my bottom lip. When I didn’t give him access, he grabbed my waist and dug his fingers in, making me gasp. Which gave him the access he wanted and soon our tongues were fighting for dominance. The whole thing where surreal and like the kissing wasn’t surprising enough, he where slowly backing us back, towards the bed, something I only realized when my heels hit the steps up to it. His hands where roaming around my body and feeling me up, something that made the sparks a lot more intense. He then pushed me backwards hard enough for me to land on the bed and the sudden movement made me shriek. And that made the trance he had been in, brake, something I could clearly see happening and he looked at me disgusted. “GET OUT NOW!” He bellowed and I hurried to me feet and ran for the door before I gave it a second thought. To shocked to do anything else but comply. The whole thing had been too surreal to comprehend and my own reaction to the kiss, was what scared me the most. Because I liked it, a lot. The heat had radiated from his body and had made me hot, and now I was missing his body heat so close to my own body. The spark had intensified and the magnetic feeling I always got when he was near where breathtaking and intense. Everything about the kiss had been intense, actually and it made me scared and made me want to do it again, something that could not happen. And to think this all started with him liking blood of my arm, which was so weird. I stormed through the halls, without a destination in mind, I just wanted to get away from Kayden as fast as possible and as far away as possible. And that’s when I almost collided with a girl, well woman really with long blonde hair with hints of light brown color, big blue eyes and a slender body she showed off in a way to tight dress. This was the woman I had seen make-out with Kayden on our weeding day. Just my luck. She where the last person I wanted to see. She then leaned in and inhaled deeply. “Why the f**k do you smell like Kayden?” She narrowed her eyes but still managed to give me a dead glare as well. “Maybe because we live in the same room.” I matched her disapproving high pitch voice, cause I where not in the mood for this s**t at all. She growled at me, while still narrowing her eyes. She then pushed me up against the wall and leaned in. “Kayden is MINE!” An even lower growl erupted from her, and her attitude begged be to speak up, so I did. “You can have him for all I care. Now let go of me!” A deep and menacing growl escaped my lips, and she complied right away. I didn’t know I was capable of making a sound like that, but I didn’t think too hard about it. I just pushed her even further away and she stubbled back before I took off running down the halls again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I reached the library and pushed open the doors. I then marched up to the couch and punched the cushions. The pain shot up through my arm and that’s when I remembered that I re-open my stiches earlier. I made a grimace as I clutched the still bleeding wound. “What did that cushion ever do to you?” A voice called out and I turned around, seeing Rylee sitting at the chessboard trying to hide his smile, while focusing on the board and not me. “Nothing, but I can’t exactly hit the thing I want to. So, I went for the next best thing.” I looked down at my arm as I removed my hand and saw that it was covered in blood. It was worse than I thought. “You’re bleeding. What happened? Did Ryder do this to you?” I looked up and saw Rylee walk towards me from the other direction. As in the opposite direction of the chessboard, but the guy that I just talked with where still sitting at the chessboard. That’s when I realized my mistake. “You’re the other brother? Sorry for assuming you were Rylee.” He grimaced and Rylee started laughing. “Other brother? Since when did, I became that?” Ryder shook his head in a disapproving manner and moved one of his chess pieces. “Since you never show your face Ryder or is always the last person to do so.” Rylee schooled him, before turning to me with a smile. “Don’t mind him. He’s just cranky about not getting the recognition he thinks he deserves. Leave it to the oldest to be like that.” Rylee shrugged his shoulders and walked closer. “So, what happened to you?” He grabbed hold of my wrist and looked at my arm or more precise the blood-soaked spot on my skin. “I had a disagreement with your brother and then I ran into some blonde chick that had the nerve to push me into the wall.” I was trying hard not to let my emotions shine through, but both brothers still snorted, like they caught onto them anyway. “That would be Sheila. The blonde…Chick.” Ryder made a face, like he would have picked a different description, than that of chick. “What does he see in her?” I mumbled to myself, not expected them to pick up on that, but of course they did. “Who really knows?” Ryder said and turned around as Rylee grumbled at him. “What? It’s true and don’t tell me you just chanced your mind. Cause you were the first to say the exact same thing and now you are defending her?” Ryder gave Rylee a suspicion glare and Rylee looked at me for a second before turning to his brother. “I’m not defending her. It’s just… We don’t have a say in the matters of the heart.” Rylee then looked at me. “She may or may not be a really nice person. We don’t know because we don’t exactly talk to her.” He gave his brother a glare, like daring him to defy him, which Ryder didn’t do. “But she’s Kayden’s girl?” They both gave me a surprised look. “He told you?” Rylee asked in a questionable tone, and I kinda nodded. “I saw them kiss when I got here, so I know.” I where of course hiding the fact that Kayden had told me so as well. Rylee sighed and Ryder gave me an apologetic look. “I’m… No, we are sorry you had to see that or that you had find to out that way. You shouldn’t have.” Rylee shook his head disapproving and then cleared his throat. “Now let’s get this checked out before it gets infected.” He then pulled me out of the room by the wrist and to my surprise Ryder followed. The brothers where surprising easy to talk to and I had let my guard down without thinking about it. Maybe there might be a place for me in this household after all.
