----Leigh POV----
The maid that had walked in on Kayden and me earlier showed up again a couple of hours later. She was the one who woke me from my nap, by gently calling my name and pushing me slightly. The maid had a couple of other females with her, and they began doing my hair and make-up. The doors to Kayden’s walk-in closet were closed, telling me that he had been in the room while I was sleeping. A bit creepy, but then again it was his room after all. Right now, I was sitting on a stool in the bathroom taking in the dress that I was supposed to wear. The material was a soft midnight blue with a lower neckline, than my wedding dress, but still a bit modest. The bottom of the dress, not so modest though. The slit was long and would most likely stop at my knee.
“It’s a bit too much, isn’t it?” The maids around me shook their heads at my wary tone.
“You are going to look marvelous, My Lady.” Looking marvelous was the thing I was afraid of. The dress was extremely sexy, and I wasn’t sure that it was a good thing. Not with the way Kayden was reacting to my present… Wait. That asshole wasn’t the boss of me, and I was not going to fall in line just because he wanted me to.
“Let’s do it.” With that I stood up and the maids helped me with the dress. And I was right. The dress was too sexy and even more so on me. It hugged my curves tightly and showed of all I got. And I was regretting my decision to define Kayden like this. They then help me with the high heeled shoes, and I was then guided out of the bathroom. The maid that came to my aid earlier waved the other maids of and they walked into the bathroom again. She then grabbed my arm gently and walked me out of the room.
“It’s not my place, but if you get into trouble with him again, you have to go to the King or Queen.” She whispered it, while she was now guiding me down the hall.
“I promise I will.” She then smiled and stopped walking, letting go of my arm. But I wasn’t going to evolve the King or Queen no matter what. It would never fall out in a way, that would help me.
“It’s just down the stairs over there… And you look amazing.” With that she took a step back and gave me a small smile, before turning around and walking back down the hallway. I pecked around the wall to get a glimpse of what I was walking into and immediately fell back. The room was packed with people, and I only knew a few. The King and Queen and their daughter. I was never allowed to attend any parties that my adoptive family hosted or had to go to, so I wasn’t sure how to act or what to do. Was it too late to go back to Kayden’s room? I saw the maids walking out of the room and they made small hand gestures, telling me to go down the stairs, before they walked of. I bit down on the inside of my lip, not wanting to ruin the make-up and steeled myself. Hiding was not going to help and with my luck, someone would just show up and drag me down to the party, anyway, must likely Kayden. I took a deep breath and walked into everyone’s view. With another deep breath I started walking down the steps and focusing solely on not tripping. I knew everybody was looking at me, but it was Kayden’s eyes that I felt the most. They were digging right into me, and I fought to not look up. I lost the battle with myself a couple of steeps later and looked at him. Our eyes locked and a loud growl erupted from him. The same thing, that had flashed in his eyes in the bathroom was back and he was making his way over to me fast. I just stood in place as he made his way up the stairs, he then gripped my waist tightly and pulled me towards him. The magnetic feeling was back and this time a burning sensation was accompanying it. I felt hot where he was touching me, and I wanted to do… Something. Another growl, but this time lower escaped his mouth and he picked me up. He raced up the stairs and was walking through the doors to his room shortly after. The heat became more intense, the longer he was touching me and the need for something, that I wasn’t sure what was became stronger. He closed the doors with his calf and walked up to his bed, where throw me down onto the surface.
“What the f**k are you wearing!?” He yelled at me, while towering over me, standing beside the bed.
“A dress.” My voice reflected my eyes glimmering irritation and I tried to sit up, without flashing myself. I could fell his eyes on my body, travelling up and down, taking every inch in. Making my body even hotter than when he was touching me seconds ago.
“Do you like the attention form men so much? Do I have a…” I slapped him across the face, hard enough that his head jerked to the side. I knew was he was going to say, and I was not going to let him complete the sentence.
“You do not know me well enough, to be accusing me of being an attention w***e. Your sister picked this dress out and since I have nothing else than my wedding dress, I wore it. So, get over yourself.” I climbed down the steps beside the bed and stood beside him, looking him straight in the eyes. Which resulted in a starring contest.
“Kayden, get out here this instant!” His mom’s angry voice roared through the closed doors.
“This isn’t over.” He hissed before turning on his heel and walking towards the doors. After he left, I slummed down on the bed, feeling defeated despite winning this round, if you asked me. He was an asshole for sure, but I shouldn’t have slapped him. I just didn’t want to hear him calling me a w***e. I was so far from that; in fact, he was more of a w***e than I was. I sighed falling back into the bed.
“Can I come in?” I looked up and saw Kayleen standing in the doorway, sort of hugging the side of the door. I nodded and waved her closer. She made her way through the room and sat down on the edge of the bed.
“I saw everything. Technically everybody saw everything… I have absolutely no idea what Kayden was thinking or what came over him back then… Are you okay?” She gave me are worried look, when I just nodded.
“I’m fine. It’s just so turned out that your brother doesn’t like my dress and I already told you. Do not apologize for his behavior.” I gave her a weak smile as I sat up and she shook her head.
“You sure are something else Leigh. I like that… Now let’s give you a proper introduction to the people waiting to meet you.” She then stood up and held a hand out to me. I took it and she help me to my feet. I adjusted my dress and then followed her out the doors.
