The f*******n kingdom
The night was long, but the heat in the room and the beds made it pleasant. The next morning Faren didn't even want to get out of bed when someone knocked on the door of the room. He let Lemar open that he was awake, he hadn't slept much ... all he did was stay and look out the window, as if at any moment someone would come over them. Lemar opened the door and saw Bogger telling him to wait for him in the office as soon as they had breakfast.
Corvin woke up quickly, but Faren still wanted to stay in the soft bed that would be missing for a while until they reached the elves. Eventually Faren woke up to eat something before going down to Bogger. Entering his office, Bogger beckons them to close the door and sit on the chairs.
-I hope you had a quiet night, Bogger said.
-I haven't had a night like this since I left Shinestone, Faren said as he stretched.
- I'm glad. Now you can't stay here much longer, people are worried about him, said Bogger pointing to Lemar. If you stay here young elf, they will try to kill you.
- You don't have to apologize to Bogger. We will leave as soon as possible. We would be glad if you didn't tell anyone where we were going, that I'm sure we would be looking.
-Lemar is right, especially since he saw you and the others talking to us, Corvin said.
- You know I'm going to point them in the wrong direction. The horses will wait for you at the gate with everything you need for the journey. As far as I know you have about 5 days to travel to Selumista quessir, am I right?
-Yes. Unless we have delays who knows what. If we take a road without any danger we can get there even faster, said Lemar.
-Then I wish you a better road, considering it is winter.
With that said Corvin got up and headed for his room, followed by Lemar and Faren. Once they got there, they started to pack things up, taking them thicker, then they left the room and headed for the door. There they found the horses already trained, with two bell peppers on each horse and two bells of water, food and some thick clothes even blankets. Corvin thanked the goalkeeper for receiving them and they continued on their way to the northeast, leaving behind the hatred of villagers. Outside they were no longer snowing which made their trip easier, they could see better even if they couldn't make the horses run too fast. The Black Rock was left behind so much that if you looked back you could see nothing to Lemar's joy that had not been welcomed in that village.
The closer they came to Selumista quessir, the better the weather was, the wind was not so strong anymore, and the snow layer was becoming thinner, making the horse's ride better. At night they stopped by a river where they could fill their bellies and hunt for something later. Outside it was getting dark so you couldn't see anything, causing the three of them to stop and prepare a small fire to set the fish that had caught them from the river they had stopped earlier. Lemar had been the first to stand guard followed by Corvin. Towards morning when it was still dark he woke Lemar and Faren when at a distance not a great patrol of orcs was passing, having the opportunity to see them. Without much ado they gathered everything and took it quietly to not let the orcs know. For several days they did nothing but stop from time to time to eat or hide from the orcs that were patrolling in large numbers.
It had been four days since he had left The Black Rock and they didn't have much time until they reached Selumista quessir. They were already on the lands of the long-forgotten King Behper, who was the greatest sorcerer. He had such great powers that he himself was afraid of his own powers. He swore he would no longer use his powers, but he died saving what he loved most, his family. Lemar motioned them to stop and rest to speak.
-We are not far from the lands of my kingdom, said Lemar, soon we will reach the Selumista quessir forests.
- And how long will we stay there? Faren asked.
- I don't know ... it all depends on Corvin and my king, who will be very difficult to convince to participate in this fight.
-You never told us who this Inshir is, Corvin said.
-He is the son of Alijar, the former king who died in the battle 2000 years ago, Lemar said. That's why it will be hard to convince.
- Why is he 2000? Faren asked.
-It's about 6,000 years old, said Lemar, who had made Faren's mouth shut. Until dusk we will reach the edge of the woods, but when we enter there no matter what will happen do not remove the weapons.
- Why?
- Because you will die right away, even if you are with me. After Alijar died his son Inshir decided that no one would enter the Selumista quessir even though he was accompanied by the elf.
-But you said we were waiting, Faren said.
- Yes, but if you make a small mistake you will be considered enemies and you will die. Inshir doesn't care who you are or why you came. Maybe Corvin will break his stone heart.
- Five kings sacrificed to stop Lucifer, but he was in vain. He is still alive, and they are dead. Now let's go, tonight only a good bed is waiting for us to sleep.
Hearing that they would have a good bed at night, Faren had stopped and started the first one on the road, leaving Corvin and Lemar behind. Corvin followed her immediately with a small smile. He was also curious to see the elf kingdom, to learn as much about them and to see how they live. Good hours go by without making a sound, until Lemar signs them to stop showing them that they are in front of the destination. They did not stay long in their thoughts and started again on the road with Lemar in the lead so that the elves who were hiding at the entrance to the Selumista quessir would not attack them. Arriving in front of the entrances, Lemar dismounted and then sucked in glad chest that he finally arrived home.
−Yallume! Nae saian lume’ tan, spuse Lemar când un elf iese dintre copaci.
−Ya naa Tanya?
−Inshir feithien ha.
-You are not welcome here. Come back, said the stranger to Corvin. -We have a job here, we need to talk to Inshir, your king, and we'll go in even if you don't let us, said Corvin, who had taken a step forward but stopped when two arrows landed in front of him. .
-I was getting sick, Lemar said, placing his hand on his chest. I told you Inshir was waiting for us, he sent me after them.
- If they want to come in and leave their weapons here. We'll give it to them when they leave, if they leave.
Lemar tells the two to drop their weapons here so they can enter their kingdom. Corvin and Faren did what they were told even though they didn't want to go unarmed in an unknown land. After leaving the weapons on two of the soldiers who appeared from the woods with raised arches, Bir'her led them into the deep woods where several elves joined them to guard them. The forest was becoming greener and warmer. As they got closer to the small town of Selumista quessir the lights became better seen and brighter. In the middle of the city was a large and thick tree, it was the largest there, beside its trunk was a spiral staircase leading up to where it was flat. The walls were formed from the branches of the tree next to each other so that nothing could be seen except from place to place where there was a small window.
The elves stopped what he was doing as Corvin and company advanced to the bottom of the room where the king and queen were on the throne. Some of the most beautiful and brilliant elves in that kingdom. They were dressed in a white dress that was as bright as a diamond, and from time to time a little gold as bright as the white. Bir'her beckoned them to stay still as he went to talk to them. Inshir beckons everyone to leave them alone, with only the three remaining, Bir'her, the king and queen. Inshir looked at Corvin as the others emptied the room, beckoning him to move closer to him.
-It took you a long time to get here, Inshir said.
- If I wasn't chased by orcs all the time I would have arrived much earlier, don't you think? Corvin said, not caring that he was in front of the king.
-Take care as you speak, said Bir'her, putting his hand to his sword.
-Let him speak as he wishes, said the queen in a very calm voice. I am Queen Galdera and I would like to know how your journey was.
- Very cold and hard, but I ended up here.
-I know why you're here, young Corvin, but unfortunately I can't help you with what you want, Inshir said.
- I need everyone from the old alliance to fight what's coming, why don't you want to join me?
- I'm not going to do what my dad did. I'm not going to endanger my kingdom because you want to fight the orcs. Because of your ancestors, my father is dead, as well as the others who died 2000 years ago, Inshir said wickedly.
- If we do not face them now, everything will be lost. Each kingdom will perish up to you too, you cannot stand with your hands in your breasts, watch as others give their lives to defend this world. Your father saw this and understood what he had to do ...
-Shut! Don't talk about him as if you know him, "Inshir said, rising from the throne. I will not do the same stupid thing for him to join a cause already lost. I'm not going to risk the life of my friends for a war that those like you have started.
-If you don't join me, we will all perish, and then Lucifer's forces will lay their eyes on you and will not stop until you die, Corvin laughed.
-How dare you raise your voice to the king, Bir'her said, pulling out his sword and placing it at Corvin's neck.
-Stop, said the Question. He is a guest here and will be treated accordingly.
- If he dares to come and attack us here, then they will die before entering the forest. First of all, I am not going to join a war that could end worse than 2000 years ago and secondly, in no case will I sign that treaty at the request of a prince without a kingdom. You may have tricked dragons into joining you, but I won't make the same mistake as them, Inshir said.
Corvin starts to get more upset when he sees how stubborn Inshir is. If he was not a king, he was ready to smash him, but considering that they were like that, they held their temper there.
- Don't worry about it, Rohan will die from my hand soon and if the people accept me I will be king, but stay worry he will die.
- You can't go to Rohan and continue this war if you're so confused about what to do, Galdera said. I can read in your eyes the hatred that you bring to this Rohan, but know that if you start this war with such hatred then we are already lost and I will not let Inshir participate.
-But he killed my father and my mother ... he wants to kill me and I can't let him live anymore, Corvin said as his eyes began to tear.
-Calm down, Faren said and took his hand. Corvin look at me, everything will be fine and he will pay no matter if it will be now or later. Everyone who does something wrong soon will turn and pay.
-Corvin you should listen to your friend, she speak very wisely, Galdera said. You can take the kingdom back without killing it. The people will not want a king's killer, even if you are the king of law. Think well about what you will do, you will stay here until after the New Year's holiday and then we will give you the answer about that treaty, it all depends on you.
-All right. I have a request if you can, Corvin said.
-What? Inshir asks.
-I want to see the Arkeryn sword, Corvin said. In the last battle I will need it, with this sword I will be able to overcome this evil once and for all.
- We don't know where he is, nobody knows. There is a legend that says there is such a sword, but unfortunately we do not know where it is.
-I know it's Inshir, Corvin said. Blackscar told me that you found it and that you only have to wake it to life.
-I think it's enough for this day, Galdera said. We'll talk about war after the New Year's Eve. Now I will ask Lemar to lead you to your rooms where you will be staying during these weeks.
-By my queen, said Lemar, bowing before her.
- Then you go to your father, I'm sure he's waiting for you.
Lemar bowed again and pulled back with Corvin and Faren, who had a hand on his right shoulder, looking as if he were holding him in his arms. Faren had done nothing but look at Corvin as he was staring blankly, which made her wonder what she was thinking. Ever since he left the desert where he had lived for so many years and traveled with him, he had started to like her and wanted to do anything to see him smiling at that moment. Lemar led each one to their room, telling them that he would come to them later. Corvin was sitting on the balcony of the room with his hands behind his back and looking at the little town in Green Forest and its inhabitants. He could see the sun shining its last rays through the trees, and the city lights were beginning to light up, making the city look like a sky full of stars. Which made Corvin forget everything he went through, reassuring him.
Faren entered his room and put his hand on his back causing him to jerk.
- Do you feel good? Faren asks.
- Yes ... and not too much. I am not sure that I will be able to defeat Rohan especially to renew the treaty. I think Inshir is right, it will be a struggle for nothing, I better stop now than to let other lives die because of me.
- What are you talking about there? He does not listen to Inshir, he does not know what he is talking about, he thinks that if he stays retired he will not be attacked by the orcs and they will be left alone. You don't see that he's afraid he won't look like his father. You will be able to defeat Rohan and you will be able to rebuild the treaty. We will push Lucifer forever into the depths from which he came.
- But I want to kill Rohan for what he did, but I think Galdera is right about that. If I kill him I can't be the king, if I want to become a king killer ...
- You're right. If you kill him you will become like him, there will be no small difference between you and him, you will be the new Rohan. You can take him down and without killing him, you have to make him acknowledge in front of everyone what he has done, and everything will work itself out. You think the people will want him as king, I don't think so and if he fails to keep the kingdom away from you I am sure he will pay dearly in front of his master.
- But how do I get him down? It will not be easy to enter the kingdom especially in the castle where it sits and is guarded non-stop.
At that moment Lemar enters the room and tells them that it is time to go to the table where everyone is waiting. Corvin lets go when Faren takes her by the arm and makes him look at her.
-Don't forget, you won't be alone, I'll always be with you until the end and we'll find a way to get Rohan out of there, Faren said, then kissed his cheek and left for Lemar.
Corvin stood still, looking at Faren, who coming to Lemar turned to him and motioned for him to come. Corvin smiles again and without any delay leaves for them. Shortly after, they had arrived in a large room where full tables were spread with healthy food with plenty of meat and no meat. They knew that the elves did not eat anything other than salad or whatever their nature gave them, they protected and valued life very much. Corvin and Faren stopped at the entrance of the room without saying anything, looking from one corner of the room to another. One thing they found strange about all the elves that were there, they all had blond hair, there was nobody with a different color of hair. Corvin looked at Lemar and asked him in a very low voice so that he could not be heard by the others.
- How do you all have the same hair color?
- That's the way we are. When we are born we have white hair, and on the patch we change to blonde. There are small exceptions where the hair remains as white as it was when they were born, Lemar said pointing to Queen Galdera.
- But why?
- Because they are special, different. For example, Queen Galdera can see what will happen in the future or in the present. At her orders I came after you, saw you when you fought those orcs and goblins in the woods before Dead Vally.
Corvin said nothing more and followed Lemar who led them to the table near the kings table. At the table of kings, there were kings, but there were still two people who seemed to be the most reliable, one of them was a very different elf from the others, always with his eyes in four, in case something would happen. He now had eyes on Corvin and Faren. They did not say a word during the meal without being asked, otherwise they listened to what the elves were talking about. After they finished eating, they returned to their rooms where they stayed until the next day, when they were asked by Lemar to wait for him at the foot of the trunk from the tree leading to the throne room. This tree was in turn linked to all the houses that were made in the other trees. Most of the houses were made down among the trees or even around a log.
Lemar led them to a blacksmith's shop that was deeper in the woods near a river where the hammer could hear the metal hitting the metal. There was also an elf who was much stronger than all the elves he had seen, but also filthy.
- Corvin, Faren is our master, he makes the best and most beautiful weapons.
-But his father, said the elf, who interrupted Lemar. I'm Lemir, I finally know the people for whom my son risked his life.
-I'm glad to meet you, Faren said.
- I heard you want a sword, I could make you a good sword for a most intense and hard fight.
- It would be perfect, but I'm looking for the Alduin sword and I know you have it here.
- I honestly know nothing about that sword, the only people who know about it are the king and queen. I'm sure they are denying this as well?
- I asked Inshir about her but she changed the subject quickly. I need to get him to tell me where she is and to give it to me, I really need her.
-Even if he had that sword and showed you it would be in vain, said Lemir.
- Why?
- The sword has not been seen for thousands of years and even if the metal does not break, over the years the sword has been covered in stone.
-And we remove it from the stone, very simple and easy, said Faren.
- You can't do Faren, it would be good if you could. When all that is at the threshold of destruction will be revealed.
-There has to be another way, Corvin said.
- Do you know the legend of this sword you're looking for? Lemir asks.
- Not really. I just know that it was used in a war a long time ago and then it's gone, just that.
- Then sit down and let me tell you the truth of this sword. This legend is drawn from the truth, which happened a long time ago and is transmitted from my ancestors, from father to son.
-I don't know, Lemar said.
- You know, but you were too young to understand that the story that I told you when you went to bed had a meaning. This legend was born with the arrival of our race on these lands. An elf who was a mere leader of the group he had come here with. He was not a king yet, but he would become a little later, when he would face a great danger to our race, this happened hundreds of thousands of years ago. Alberian, as he was called, decided to create this city where we live today, at that time I spoke only the elf language. For many years they lived very well without problems, no one knew about them and they liked to see their work, until the darkness fell on them. When an elf starts to taste hatred, from all that means evil, it changes into our worst nightmare ...
- What a nightmare? Faren interrupts him.
- When this happens it gets dark, the hair turns black and the skin is dark gray, we call it dark elves. When this happens, they are banished from us. That happened then, but it was worse that one didn't show up at a few years old, but it had started to appear almost every week. Alberian couldn't especially kill them if he knew them, so he drove them out of this place. After a while, the elves did not transform, the nightmare stopped and Alberian could breathe easier, believing that everything was over, but it was not so.
- Has the nightmare returned? Faren interrupts again, which makes Corvin laugh.
-No, Lemir said with a laugh. But he had to fight with those he expelled. The outcasts named dark elves gathered an army, bringing with them goblins and new creatures. We now know them as orcs, orcs are made of dark elves and goblins. Over time the orcs became much more perfect, but then there was no one who knows what except their very large number in front of Alberian's first dark elf, named Alefar. He wanted a war against Alberian and this he got. The two brothers fought for many years, until Alberian decided to stop this fight, he knew he couldn't kill Alefar with any sword, so Alduin created the perfect sword to rival the sword. to Alefar. We know nothing more about his sword than it was created with black magic.
- Don't tell me that sword still exists, Faren interrupts again.
-If you didn't interrupt him all the time, you would find out, Lemar said, irritated by so many interruptions.
-Lemar is fine, that means he captured the story, Lemir said, smiling.
Faren had blushed and stood beside Corvin, who was laughing at her curiosity.
- Where did I stay? Yes, Alberian and Alefar fought for several hours, they were so tired that they could barely hold the sword in their hand. But with the last splinter of power Alefar raised his sword when his brother was not careful and rushed over to give him the final blow. Alberian noticed in time and raised his sword. Alefar stood still with his eyes fixed on Alberian, who was trying to remove his brother's sword from him, but after a few seconds Alefar looked down at the ground and noticed that his brother's sword had passed through him as if it were only a leaf. Alefar fell down without a breath, and Alberian pulled his sword from his chest, which looked as if he had just touched it, but the sword had already touched his heart. By the time Alberian died, he too was fulfilled and his last wish was buried with his brother. It is said that the sword was buried with him, but it is not certain, the sword was too strong to be placed in a grave so we do not know exactly where it is. Alberian hid his sword before he died and he doesn't know where he is.
- But with Alefar's, what happened? Corvin asks.
- We do not know when Alefar died the sword simply disappeared. Nobody found it when they got there. Now you can ask me any Faren question, Lemir said.
- But where do you know that and who did Alduin?
- One of the blacksmiths at that time did it, he was the most skilled blacksmith of all time. He was my grandfather's great-grandfather and that's how I know the story. So you have a lot of work to do if you want Inshir to tell you where the sword is in case he has it, you have Corvin's patience that if he probably will show it to you.
After talking about their sword, their race, Corvin and Faren left to wander the surroundings of this small village where the elves lived. The elves were preparing for the coming week in a few weeks, where they would leave the old year behind and start a new year. Corvin couldn't stay quiet for long when he decided to help them with everything they needed. He helps the men with the heavy tasks, and Faren was taken by the women of the elves to prepare the decorations and everything else they needed.
