Present Meeting and the Past Pain

(Sabrina's P.O.V.) Sighing at the thought, she placed books on a display. Making sure everything was set up the way her boss and friend, Peggy, told her. The bells on the door rang announcing a customer. She plastered a smile on her face and turned to greet them. "Hello" she managed to choke out as she was met with a drop dead gorgeous guy. Golden blonde hair that glowed in the spring sun light that streamed through the glass door. It came down to his shoulders. His piercing green eyes were looking straight at her. His 6'2 muscular toned body was covered with jeans and a white shirt that sculpted to his body. He looked to be about 20 years old or so. With a deep voice that made her body shiver he asked,"Where is your mystery section?". Realising she was staring, Sabrina gave herself a mental shake. "In the back, on the left. If you have any trouble let me know.", She responded after a long awkward pause. The man took her breath away with a smile and headed to the mystery section. He smelled of cedar. Like the chest her grandmother had when she was a child. She loved that smell. As he walked away, Sabrina caught herself staring at his behind. Man, did he have a nice one. Sabrina watched him walk away, she felt a pull in her body towards him. Like he had his own gravity and she was being pulled in by his commanding presence. Giving herself an internal lecture, she gathered up the rest of the books for her display. Why was she always so awkward when it came to guys? Sabrina's friends alway tried to take her out before. She always ended up staring and stammering rather than actually talking to guys. Despite her friends trying to set her up, she had only ever had one boyfriend. Sabrina met Darren Wilson in her junior year of high school. Darren played on the football team and was very popular. Sabrina tutored him in language arts. They even hung out outside of school. He seemed sweet and caring. She confessed to him. Darren seemed happy and said they should date. He tried to get Sabrina to come out of her shell. They were together for what she thought was a blissful year. They went on dates and spent time watching movies. She liked talking to him and felt that he understood her. Darren had told Sabrina he loved her. They made plans for the future together. She was a virgin and was saving herself for the day they would get married. That was until she found Darren making out with his "best friend" Chloe. During a party for homecoming, one of his friend's had invited them. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She turned away from the groping couple. She ran out of the party. Sabrina walked home crying. Darren noticed she wasn't at the party and went to find her. Sabrina was half way home when he did find her. "Why did you leave?" Darren asked from the open window as he parked his GMC on the side of the road. He walked over to her on the side walk after getting out of the truck. "I want to break up." Sabrina mumbled through her tears. Darren looked at her shocked like he couldn't understand what she was saying. "What did you just say? Why would you wanna break up?",Darren asked like she just knocked the wind out of him. Sabrina told him through her tears what she had walked in on at his friend's party. Darren told her that he was in love with Chloe. He didn't mean to hurt Sabrina. He just didn't know how to tell her. Sabrina yelled at Darren,"You probably should have told me before you started sucking face with Chloe!". Darren face twisted with anger as he walked to his truck and got in. "If you weren't such tease, I wouldn't have." Darren took off back in the direction of the party. Sabrina walked the rest of the way home heartbroken. The next day at school Sabrina had to watch Darren and Chloe being a lovey dovey couple. It made her sick but mostly it just hurt. She had trouble trusting people after that.
