(Sabrina's P.O.V.)
Picking herself up off the ground from behind the counter, Sabrina looked at the receipt with Gabriel's number on it. She had a date with a guy she had just met. Why did she agree? Sure he looked like a god come to earth and she definitely felt drawn to him. Still, was that a good reason to go out with him? Not to mention he was coming here after she got off work. Sabrina looked down at herself. Her favorite black jeans, her blue work shirt, and her converse. She felt really under dressed for a date. Maybe she should call him and cancel. No, Sabrina said to herself shaking her head. She probably wouldn't get another chance if she did that. She took the receipt off the counter and added his phone number to her phone.
Looking at the time, Sabrina realized she only had half an hour before her boss would show up. she had been standing there staring off for thirty minutes. Moving around the counter, she went to finish the display she had been working on.
Later, Peggy King walk into the store in a swirl of perfume and sass. Her friend was nice but she wasn't someone you would think of when you thought bookstore owner. Peggy was 5'4, 5'7 with her heels, which she always wore unless she was at home. She was 125lbs soaking wet maybe with short blonde hair and chocolate brown eyes. She always looked like she just walked off the runway when she was out in public. Having finished the display and helping customers, Sabrina was ready to get off work. The time was going by so slow and she found herself becoming excited for her date. She had an hour left til Gabriel would come to get her.
Peggy noticed her watching the clock, "Got a hot date or something?".
"Or Something.", Sabrina said but she couldn't keep a grin off her face.
"Tell. Me. Everything.", Peggy demanded as she raised her perfectly sculpted eyebrows. Sabrina looked her and didn't know where to start.
"Well, I do have a date after work. He is hot. Actually he's super hot.", she sighed out the last part as she thought of Gabriel. Peggy smiled at Sabrina.
"It's about time! Good for you sweetie. I was starting to worry about you.", Peggy voiced.
"Worried about me? Why?", Sabrina asked confused.
"Yes, worried about you. I don't think I've seen you talk to anyone outside of work besides me. You sit around reading all the time. Don't get me wrong, you're a great employee and nice enough person. But I was sure you were one more lonely night from being a cat lady.", Peggy said while looking over the display.
"I'm not a cat lady.", Sabrina said shocked.
"Okay, not a cat lady but definitely a nun or something hermit like. You barely talk to anyone. You don't usually take notice of guys even when they're hitting on you. Sorry not sorry. That's why I'm so happy for you now.", Peggy said looking at her friend pointedly.
"One, Guys don't hit on me. Two, I would look horrible in that nun outfit. I just prefer my own company is all. It's better than getting caught up in drama or anything messy.", Sabrina said turning her interest to a pile of books.
"If you're not having fun with messy, you're not doing it right. Besides, maybe mister super hot can help you with that." Peggy laughed wiggling her eyebrows.
"I should get back to work.", Sabrina said walking away blushing. Maybe he can help me, Sabrina thought as she went to stock books away from Peggy.
"Hey Sweetie, I'll be back in a little bit.", Peggy said as she walked out the door. Sabrina was left to mind the store.
