I’ve been called many things in my life—rogue, criminal—but what this woman called me was more painful than all of them combined.
"Don’t call me that. Not everything you hear about me is true," I said.
"But that’s what you are—a murderer. Maybe you’re not a kidnapper, but that’s beside the point. Where is she?" she demanded.
"She’s taking refuge in Shelton Town," I replied, struggling to hold back my anger.
"So why aren’t you arresting her?"
"I don’t know if I told you before, but you can’t do anything to anyone in Shelton Town. It’s a rule. It’s a place of peace. The Circle of Power governs there. If you go against them, even your own people will turn against you."
"Does the Circle of Power know the person they’re harboring is a wanted criminal?"
