Immediately after my call with Reina, I called Lila again.
"What is it you want this time?" she asked, not trying to conceal her impatience.
“Come on, my dear Lila, there’s no need to be so disagreeable,” I replied, trying to keep my voice calm. “I have this under control. I’m going to get her for you, just like I promised. I just finished speaking with her.”
“And?” she asked, a single word filled with doubt and an unhidden disgust for me
“And I think I’ll have her with me within the week,” I said confidently. I prayed silently that nothing would go wrong.
