When I insulted and threatened Ryder, he didn't say a word, so I hung up the phone. I didn't know what to do next, then it just popped in my head, and I felt the best thing to do was to go to Janette's house. Maybe there might be a clue as to where the strange woman had taken her. I hurriedly threw something on and rushed to my garage. From the corner of my eye, I noticed the guards Ethan had placed to watch over me waving frantically as I got in my truck and pulled out out of the garage onto the driveway.
I stopped briefly for them so I could hear what they had to say.
"Ma'am," their leader spoke first. "We have orders to watch over you."
"Does that order include restricting my movement?" I asked with an air of arrogance.
"No, ma'am." he replied.
