Logan pov
The engagement meeting was set to start by 9am with just few people attendance.
Today, I’ll be taking Philip with me so that he could run some checks on Leo’s pack because I found his sudden interest of making me his son-in law a threat.
I got to the pack and it didn’t look up to standard like people used to hype about. What was really becoming of it after this few years?
In a medium sized hall we’re three men and two women plus me and Philip.
“You are late son.” My father said but I didn’t bother to give him an answer.
“Alpha Leo it’s nice to visit your pack after all this years but I think it’s now a swallow of its old self, don’t you think?”
“You came here for an important note, not to come and survey my pack.”
“Ohh that’s true, who is the one I’m intended to marry?” I asked a bit eagered to see whom they wanted to throw at me.”
“Here she is. This is my daughter Ria my only daughter.” He said.
“Am I.” She said in a low tone.
She did really look young and tough but she wouldn’t fit as my mate even if I wanted to wed another woman.
“Not a bad choice.” I said and gestured to Philip to leave and do as we planned.
“How old are you Ria?”
“I’m 18 years old.”
“Are you really the only daughter?” I asked.
She hesitated for a while and looked over to where her father was before nodding. With the way she hesitated, I knew something didn’t sit right.
“She is our only daughter. Why did you ask Logan.” A young woman who I guessed to be Leo’s wife said.
“Nothing.I used to think that Alph Leo had two daughters but I think I’m mistaken.”
“Well,that…”
“Hold it Ria. You won’t want to anger me or your groom to be.”
“Groom my foot. We already talked about this dad. You never listen you do things in your own way…”
“Shout up.” Leo silenced her from talking but I was glad the girl didn’t want to marry me either so it was a win.
“Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t agree to this marriage.”
“What do you mean?” He third man who I wasn’t quite familiar with said but instant redrew back maybe realizing he wasn’t suppose to speak.
“What are you trying to say Logan.” Leo asked.
“I see you too wasn’t informed this time too.”
“I don’t have any intentions of marrying your daughter and she too doesn’t even though she did, I wouldn’t marry her.”
“Why? Ethan, what is your son saying.”
“”I’m sorry Leo but he has found his mate.”
“How is that possible? Just in two days to getting engaged to my daughter, he found his mate?” Leo shouted.
“Calm down honey, you’re creating a scene.”
There was certainly something weird about this people. First the marriage second was the fact that Leo wife was wearing a long thick top in a hot day.
It was rare for werewolf to get sick even if they got poisoned.
Well, that wasn’t my business. I’m glad I’ve done my path of informing everyone that I wouldn’t be getting married to their daughter.
“Thank you.” I hear Ria say when I turned to her direction.
The poor girl must certainly be going through a lot at this point in time.
“I’ll be on my way Dear Alpha Leo. And I hope you treat your daughter well instead of beating her in public.”
I stood up and began strolling out. Listening to then argue was really a pleasure.
Outside,Philip was already waiting.
“Found anything?”
“Nothing much let’s talk in the car.”
“Cool.”
“The pack seem to be going through a bit of tough time m. Did you notice their security at the entrance of the pack?”
“Could it be that the forsaken shaa been attacking them late and maybe they need assistance that’s why they brought the idea of an engagement?” I said.
“That could be one of the reasons. And I noticed that when I asked about Alpha Leo’s family and how many daughters he had, his pack members go all quite and run back into their home in fear.
“That’s suspicious. But I’m glad my work here is done.”I said to Philip as we drove out of the pack.
“How was the meeting?”
“Luck was on my side. The young girl didn’t want me to marry me. Seems our parents just wanted to force us into a hell of arrange marriage.” I said shaking my head.
“That cause is settled. Let’s go see if Ember will marry you.”
“Nahh. Let’s wait a bit meanwhile. I’m expecting her call.”
“What gave you done this time Logan.”
“Don’t scold me like Phil, she swore not to get mated with me so I made her life a bit tough.”
“And you think doing so will make her accept the bond.”
“Hey, I tough women like tough men?”
“You’re such a clown.” Philip replied.
I couldn’t help but laugh but my laughter was cut short when I saw Selena at my door step.
“What is she doing here?”
“Why ask me? It’s your d**k that earned you a psycho woman.”
“Help me drop her off. You’re good in sweet talking women Phil.”
“Nahh Logan. It’s your business, so deal with it. I love you.” He said and immediately stepped out of the car heading towards the training building.
“Motherfucker.” I cursed and lifted my eyes to see Selena waving at me.
“Get inside the car.” I said to her.
I came out of the passenger seat and made my way to the driver seat while Selena took the passenger seat.
“Why are you here? I’ve told you that you should only come to my house when I call for you.”
“I missed you, so I came. Remember I told you I have no family of my own. You are my family even though you see me as nothing.” She said and I watch tears cloud her eyes.
I wasn’t ready for another day of tears so I began to drive.
“I’ll drop you off at your home and make sure next time, you don’t disobey me or I’ll make you disappear.”
“I’m familiar with that word.” She said and I found it strange cause this was basically the first time I said such a thing.
Who was this woman? How can detach myself from her?
