Elle pov
Who was capable of pulling such an expensive threat? And worst of all my closest friend was picked just to get to me.
I began to cry for Lia, she didn’t deserve this and what would become of her child who was playing with Lucian in the sitting room. Since the previous night, I didn’t get any other calls or messages from the stranger.
My mind replayed the instruction I was given and the name that came to my mind was Logan. Not only does he think of himself but he was the only one who I know could pull up such an act.
Kidnapping Lia so I could bend to his will. I told Lydia about my suspicions but she told me to dismiss the idea that Logan was the person pulling up this game. I didn’t understand her reason behind supporting him but I wasn’t ready to back down.
I was going to question him and get my answers. Now the issue was how I was going to meet up with him as I neither had his number nor did I have his address and going back to that house was not one of my options.
I really needed to find out what happened to Lia and who is responsible for her kidnap.
I glanced back at her daughter and Lucian who were both engrossed in playing with toys. Now I had to sneak without Lydia noticing me and head for Philip place.
Never did I expect I’ll be choosing the least option. But for Lia, I will risk it once.
“Mmm… Lydia, I want to step out for some air.” I lied, crossing my fingers and hoping she would buy my lie.
“It’s not safe out there for you Elle, you may get attacked.”
“Don’t worry about me Lydia, I’ll be fine.” I said with a smile. Many years of dad trying me in combat won’t go for waste if I eventually get attacked.
But I don’t think the person behind the kidnap of Lia would want to harm me. It’s just simple logic.
Finally out of the house, I took my car which the mechanic had fixed and returned back. I missed my big baby so much.
Focus Elle, I had to get to Philip and hope Logan my mate is around because he has a lot of explanations to do.
The building comes into view and the memory of that night comes back to my head like it was just yesterday.
I saw a shadow by the window and guessed it to be Philip and I was right because once I was at the door he welcomed me with a smile.
“Hello Ember, it’s good to see you. Do come in.” He said politely.
I smiled and stepped in. The house looked like it was a year ago just that there were some changes in the furniture.
“Have a seat. Would you like to have anything?”
“No, I won’t be spending much time.” I replied.
“Well, if you change your mind just let me know.” He said and I simply nodded.
“Is Logan around?” I asked as Philip stared at me curiously.
“I’ve got something important to discuss with him.” I added quickly so he would dismiss the idea that I came to beg Logan.
“He’s right there.” He said and I followed when his eyes were fixed at, there was Logan standing with muscled and broad shirtless body. It was hard to resist till he cleared his throat to get my attention.
Shit, I just embarrassed myself.
“I’ll leave you too tall.” Philip said with a smile as he stepped out.
“Well, who would have thought that my adamant mate would come running to me?” He said with a smirk that I hated soo much.
At least can’t he show some remorse about what he had just done?
“Where is Lia?” I asked not wanting to continue with his games.
“Who is Lia?”
“Don’t pretend Logan.”
“You kidn*pped my friend and now you want to deny that you know nothing about it.” I said as I stood angrily pointing my finger at him.
He walked to my side and scoff before collapsing in the couch where Philip had sat. He smelled so nice that I wanted to have a bite of him.
“You amaze me Ember. You just walk into my house and claim that I kidn*pped your friend. Is that right?”
“Stop this Logan you promised to make me bend to your will and all of a sudden my friend goes missing.”
“Simply because I made a threat doesn’t mean I’ll stoop this low mate.” He said a little bit angry but I didn’t care about his mood. I needed answers.
I wanted to believe him though but he was the only suspect I had on my list so I promised to push on.
“Return Lia back gor f**k sake she has a child.”
“I didn’t do it.” This time he answered a bit louder and angrier. The next moment he was standing next to me making my feel unease.
Curse this mate bond.
“I thought you came here to accept me.”
“In your grave Logan.” I said confidently.
“I like how hellbent you are. When I’m ready I’ll have you for myself, in a way you won’t be able to resist.”
I looked him in the eye as I tried to ignore the sparks I felt as he ran a finger down my cheek bone. I stepped away from him and grabbed my bag to leave.
“Return Loa back or I’ll report-“
“Report me to who Ember? I am the Alpha king don’t forget that and even though I wasn’t, who would listen to you?” He said with a scoff.
He just insulted me, made me remember my personality. A personality I jade to accept just because of him. A personality that our son who he didn’t care for would have to leave with for the rest of his live.
I wanted to tell him that been a rogue was his fault and he was the reason my father sent me away from the pack, away from my right was Alpha.
Tears threatened to drop, but this wasn’t the right time to let my emotions out. Not in front of a mate I hated.
I took a deep breath and walked away back to my car. He came to the front door to watch me. Perhaps to see me break down but this few months have taught me to bottle my emotions.
My main problem is where could Lia be?
