The room they were in was one with a polished edge as everything glowed with a mild but noticeable light, a very beautiful sight.
“All this are pretty high priced yet he easily paid it all… who exactly is this guy, even when you’re not able to understand all you see about him, he brings out another perplexing attribute.”
A murmur unconsciously slipped out of Hiya as she took in all she saw, she was naturally referring to Adam who brought them to a place like this despite being in a foreign place, the other two might be ignorant about things but she wasn’t, she was able to notice some things that were shocked and left her confused again and again, a place like this was surprisingly high class and it was still an easy feat for him to procure a room.
Not that she was unable to believe what she saw but from when she came to know Adam in the forest that day, she had only always seen a layer of fog around him and couldn’t see through anything about him. If she had a choice, she wouldn’t be here with him at this point, with this group, she felt an inkling of unease every once in a while like she was being watched and for her, it wasn’t a good thing. She had to always watch her steps.
While she was thinking she didn’t notice Adam slightly turn his head as looked in her general direction as the corner of his lips turned up a little.
The other two people in the room, Harry and Ayo were none the wiser of the thoughts that one of them had about another, they just stared blankly around them as they took in the sight of the room.
The room was actually less like a room and more like a mini flat, it had four rooms and a small living space with other necessities for living and comfort.
Not too long after, the two young guys found themselves knocking back against a long couch as they felt all the energy within them flee out like running water.
Weeks like what theirs had been was filled with only strain and exhaustion, courtesy of their special impromptu trainer and on finally reaching somewhere different, regardless of the oddity of the situation, they immediately felt tired and wasted.
That night was the trio’s best in a long long time, a room for each of them as they let go of all inhibitions and slept like a log… until the next morning when Adam roused them out of their sleep.
Harry was in a world of his own, he was laying down on his emperor sized bed while a whole host of maidens lined up on both sides of his bed, each one prettier than the last holding platters containing different delicacies with mouthwatering aromas, each maiden wore provoking clothes that shifted slightly around some areas whenever they bent down to feed him with a smile. Laying down on his laps was the prettiest of them all, wearing clothes that seemed very suggestive as she played a musical instrument adding a moving flavor to the atmosphere.
He chuckled as a maiden brought a bunch of grapes close to his mouth and teasingly moved it around just slightly above his lips, his foolish smile widening by the second as he was about to grab her hand and drag down, he had just put the grapes in his mouth with slight force when his eyes turned lazily and looked at the beauties surrounding him all of them decked in colorful clothes and one in a dark clothing with a masculine figure and a weird smile,
“Hm?”
His gaze paused as he swiveled his head back to the black clothed figure and saw Adam with an odd smile on his face as he stood at the foot of the bed. A yelp escaped from Harry ’s lips as he adjusted his posture which in turn disrupted the entire atmosphere as the music, maiden and feeding all paused, all eyes turning to stare at Adam blankly.
Not minding the pausing and the gazes all directed at him, Adam smile never left his face as he looked at Harry and opened his lips,
“Nice dream you’re having here… I would probably have wanted to leave you alone to keep dreaming but I suggest you wake up now, we’re leaving soon. Tell these pretty girls to go wait for your return in your imperial harem chambers, you have those right?”
And with those words and a slight smile at the end he vanished in a wisp of smoke leaving the scene utterly disrupted and chaotic. In another second, everything around Harry himself disappeared as the whole space lost color and he woke up with a sharp rise to a sitting posture, he let out a heavy breath as he breathed deeply for a few seconds. After calming down and laying back for a while, he reluctantly stood up while murmuring words not to be spoken out loud.
There were individual baths in each room so every one of them got the privilege of living in slight luxury for once. Twenty minutes later, the first to walk out of the rooms was Harry with a slightly gloomy face as he kept quiet and said nothing, he didn’t even look up once or say a word of greeting, he wasn’t sure if it was due to anger or the oddness of the situation earlier.
The next was Hiya five minutes later as she wore on the same clothes they had been wearing for a pretty long while, oddly enough it still looked fairly clean and smooth even after weeks of wear, unlike that of the others. She carried a fresher air as she looked quietly stunning with the glow of her purple eyes.
The last to come out was actually Isaac as he came out looking better kept. Hiya gave a glance in his direction and her eyes flickered for a bit as she took in his appearance.
Oddly enough she had been together with this group for a while, but this was the first time she had a chance to look at him properly.
He had a tanned skin that look all too smooth, a pair of eyes with a silver white glow that looked like it hid stars within, with black hair that almost seemed to absorb the light as strands of golden hair stood out from within that darkness. His face had on a silly look as usual yet the clumsy aura he seemed to give off had a slight touch of secrecy mixed in.
She averted her gaze after a fairly long stare to avoid notice, her eyes moving as thoughts filled her head.
Seeing everyone already outside waiting for him, he scratched his head and looked away as he thought back to the minutes he spent figuring out the operations of the facilities in the bathroom, if he didn’t some odd thoughts entering his mind when he tried hard, he might not have been able to do anything at all.
Walking on the streets of Sarang still gave Isaac a surreal feeling, like all of it wasn’t happening and he was dreaming somewhere else. Yet the vibrancy of the whole atmosphere proved his feelings invalid. He looked around as he took in the sights and faced Adam with a question, “Where are we headed”
“We’re going to get you three classed.”
Hiya froze for as quick as a millisecond before she continued walking beside the rest, her expression remained unchanged but there was unsettlement present deep within her eyes as thoughts moved quickly through her head.
Isaac turned his head sideways to glance at Adam, “Classed?”
“You’ll know when we get there”
“…*sigh*”
A structure towered above all of the other built structures, but this particular construct was one that was known among all the elves and even beyond, and no one dared claimed to have built them because it was the one thing that had existed ever since forever. A dark golden origin pillar towered straight into the air, the ancient feel it gave when one gazed in its direction was enough proof of its age standing close to it and trying to see the top was an impossible task.
The group of four had arrived under exactly this same origin pillar of legends, before Isaac could ask another question, it was Adam who spoke up first this time
“This is one of the origin pillars, towers that has been present since time immemorial’ it’s the origin pillar that allows for us to gain classes, a tower that connects everyone and everything in a peculiar way, from the strongest at the top to the weakest at the beginning, all of them have been to this place, this tower, you can’t have a class or grow stronger than your limits without this tower, so I decided that should be something you get done with quickly, so we can forget about it.”
The area around the origin pillar was relatively scarce as anyone who got close to the origin pillar would sense it and unconsciously move away, so it was a quiet side of the city.
Adam looked at the origin pillar as he spoke, “all you need to do is place a palm on the origin pillar and communicate with the origin pillar, the rest will come naturally...”
Isaac grew wide eyed at the statement, “You said to communicate with the tower?”
Understanding his implications, Adam replied, “Yes Isaac, the origin pillar is sentient, at least partially, it’s something that has been present for a long time, something like this shouldn’t be surprising…”
“But… it’s all earth and stone…”, Isaac murmured
Which prompted a raised brow from Adam “… Haven’t you heard about Golems?”
“Ohh…” an embarrassed smile crept onto Isaac’s face as he decisively kept shut at this point
To that Adam also said nothing before he turned to look at the origin pillar, “Alright… who’s going first.”
Hiya who had been quiet all this time suddenly spoke up as she said faintly but loud enough to be heard, “I… don’t need a class”
Hearing this the Harry and Isaac shot a confused glance at her which she ignored as she stared at Adam who was still looking,
He raised a brow but didn’t turn to look at her as he asked, “Hm? Are you sure about that?”, she let out a tiny breath she had been holding as she replied, “I’m sure I don’t need it… “, after that Adam said nothing more about it as he turned to look from Harry to Isaac, “That leaves the two of you…”
Harry and Isaac withdrew their confused looks at the conversation as they turned our heads to the tower again.
Since they had been listening they knew what they had to do, even Isaac had heard vague facts and knew a little bit about origin pillars so he wasn’t unsure of what was going on. Still it was Harry who stepped forward first as he said, “Let me go first…”
Adam gave him a faint smile as he said, “it’s nothing to act like you’re going to die for, just go to the origin pillar and place your palm on it.”
“Okay…”
He moved at a constant pace as he approached the already close by tower, the closer he got, the more he could feel the ancient air around it and the more he felt something sprout from deep within him… It was a sense of reverence and warmth, like he heading back to the one thing that really mattered and stood above all. He was about less than half a meter away from it when he stopped walking and raised his hands before moving a palm to the tower slowly, a slight nervousness overtook since he didn’t know what to expect, he actually knew more about the origin pillar than Isaac so also knew more about the concept of classes, he really didn’t know what to expect he would get. As his thoughts wondered all over the place, his palm finally made contact with the dark gold surface of the origin pillar and then he froze in place with not a single change in expression.
