Episode 74.

It was until after about half a minute had gone by did Isaac who had calmed down his adrenaline filled blood speak up with another question, “How are you here Adam, didn’t you say you couldn’t enter this place?” His words immediately broke through the stagnant atmosphere as the black shadow finally responded, completely ignoring the still confused Harry. “Well I’m not actually here with you guys, I meant it when I said I can’t enter. This is just an apparition, a particular skill of mine. With it I can’t come in as well, but since I still can’t exactly trick the laws operating these things, this apparition of mine is just an apparition, I can’t use it to do anything else other than conversing with you guys.” Understanding dawned in their eyes but right as Isaac was about to speak, Harry once again spoke up with relief on his face, “It’s good that it’s a skill of yours, I wondered how something so small could swallow a fully grown human like you while you could still talk.” “…” Isaac couldn’t be exactly sure, but he could swear that he could see the black shadow that was Adam’s skill shaking like it was unstable or something, it was only until after a while did the shaking stop. Even he couldn’t help but sigh somewhat with mixed feelings for Harry. After a few seconds had passed since Harry spoke again, calm seemed to have returned to the shadow as it stopped shaking unstably, the words Harry had said had impacted Adam so much that he actually almost lost control of the black shadow apparition, it took him a few good seconds to stabilize the connection and not cause to disperse. He had managed to stabilize it in the end and so he continued his words, zoning out both the presence and voice of the berserker that was Harry. “Where you are right now is what’s called a safe zone or sometimes a rest zone, the reason being the fact that no matter what, even if you had a horde of beasts doggedly chasing after you out for your blood, once you’re able to step into this place, they won’t be able to chase in after you, there’s a kind of barrier surrounding this place that keeps all things that are challengers like you on the other side. It’s actually also what keeps the beasts from charging out from within the mountain out into the real world, so no matter what the beasts do, this place will always remain safe. That is until a Mountain king, that is the leader and top dog of all the beasts in each mountain steps decides to tear down the safe zone. Believe me, although none of the other beasts can do it, but the mountain king can. In fact, they’re the reasons behind each beast horde attack on the border of the two zones. Unless they tear down the safe zone, the beasts would be forced to stay within the mountain for as long as the mountain king wishes. That’s why, every mountain king is always the most important tainted beast in any mountain trial, if you can’t kill the mountain king, you three are most likely going to die…” New bouts of information had been forcefully pushed into Isaac’s mind but he chose not to mind it since it was a useful bit, he asked a question once he saw Adam had finished what he had to say. “The mountain king can’t be that hard to beat right?” To which Adam’s voice sounded out from the black shadow to reply, “Of course it isn’t, this is only a low tier tainted mountain in the end. Even with any few surprises, you three should be able to handle it…” Now that the whole thing had been addressed, it was time to head out to battle. Now you might think that the trio of Isaac, Harry and Hiya had literally been held in the hand all along the way from the border of the untainted zone to the point where they reached now, truth is, even Isaac couldn’t help but feel a little pathetic, like a country bumpkin. But the truth is, that’s exactly what they were, country bumpkins of some sort. While Hiya had not said much on where she came from, Harry had mentioned that before he got captured and thrown into the pit, he originally resided in a fairly prosperous city in the human settlement situated in a position where they were neither at the border of the settlement, nor were they at the center or at the capital cities. But that’s just what the city was, fairly prosperous and not one where they could fulfill their dreams, they had obviously heard tales and myths of the powerful fighters that battled beyond the edge of the clean zone, which was what some used to refer to the untainted zone, but they had only ever heard stories, only the rich and powerful of the city he had lived in could ever have the means to send their young ones to the capital cities which he and other unprivileged children had heard was where to go to; to become one of the fighters in the stories they couldn’t stop hearing. Harry was even one step ahead of his fellow unprivileged friends in the sense that he had bravely snuck out of the city, so he could traverse the distance and reach one of the capital cities. But he also turned out to pretty unlucky as it during when he had snuck out of the city that he had naively fallen into one of the trap that those who brought young people into the terrible pit had set. He had ended up in the pit, instead of one of the capital cities that supposedly held hope for his future, and he had been there ever since, till the day when they had all escaped. Isaac on the other hand could hardly remember where he came from properly, the only thing he could remember was the jade forest that he had traverse for as far back as his memories could go. His mind was a mess, and not one he wanted to even take care of… So basically, that’s why they were basically walking in the dark when it came to things like these. If Harry had successfully reached one of the capital cities and managed to enter a fighter academy, like Adam had explained, that would teach all they needed to know about these things and even allow them to grow into the various classes they had chosen, he would probably have been one of their top students. This was one concept that seemed to be pretty far from Harry with his current cognitive abilities, but Adam’s statement was based only on Harry’s potential as a berserker and nothing else… -------------------------------------------- “Alright then, let’s head out…” Isaac voice echoed within the forest as he stared ahead at the wide expanse of trees that was covering his view of the battlefield ahead of them as well as also supposedly protecting them by keeping the lurking beasts a distance away. He raised his brows slightly with a strange light flickering through his eyes, at this current low tier mountain and low level beasts, did he actually need any form of protection or something. He wasn’t being arrogant or whatsoever, but he couldn’t just imagine what exactly would be a problem to handle with their current strength and understanding, he knew he hadn’t received any form of instruction on these things before and neither had Harry as well, he couldn’t be sure about Hiya but she was nevertheless a newbie in this as well right, but regardless of it all, he knew they had grown pretty well for their current level.
