The Hall.

Seeing the report on both my physical and mental status, I exhaled as I laid back down on the bed, my head crashing softly on the pillow. My thoughts slowly beginning to regroup and organize itself again. Two seconds later, the second voice in my head of present spoke in a calm tone, though I could feel a bit of worry from it. “Isaac… it was all just a dream you know…” With no particular thought on how to answer, I could inhale and exhale deeply before I nodded my head slowly, the thoughts slowly leaving as I felt slightly weary all of a sudden, “Yeah, I know it was…”  ..... Majestic buildings and imposing auras entered my vision as I walked past the gates of the inner city of Sarang. Sarang was actually divided into two by a wall that was even bigger than the wall encircling the whole of Sarang, I hadn’t been able to see the first wall save from a distance one time, but the height of the wall just behind me was no doubt bigger, it divided the city into an outer and inner city of which I had only seen the outer city and not the inner city till now. I noticed one thing that was increasingly present, the streets and pavements of the city, even some buildings were glowing with a silver radiance, I was about to ask when Harry voiced the question in my mind, “What are these roads made of, they seem very blinding, did they line the roads with polished metal or something…” Adam ’s reply came about two seconds later, “Actually you’re not that far off, this is a metal, but not just any metal, the streets are built with darkmoon silver, not lined, the whole thing is of the same substance, haven’t you heard the stories?” Shock filled me as I looked to Harry whose mouth had fallen open, it was until a while later that he realized he was almost drooling and closed it. He noticed my stare and turned to me with the same wide eyes, and then he murmured to himself, “I had no idea…”   Very soon we arrived in front of a building that very obviously stood out from the rest both in terms of the aesthetics and size, an imposing symbol was in plain sight on it for all to see, what I felt odd was the fact that as I stared at the symbol on it, I felt a kind of reverence bubble up within me and almost made me want to shiver in deference and acknowledgement of something higher up, it wasn’t until the tiny spiral within me stirred even stronger than the usual when I wasn’t cultivating did the feeling disappear like it was never there. But I still couldn’t help but stare blankly at the symbol that reminded me of the legendary symbol from the stories “Is this the Hall… of Gathered Hope?” I looked to the side and saw Harry   staring at the symbol with awe while Hiya looked surprised to see it, it was now I realized that this was Sarang from the stories, a mythical place from the stories I heard. The hall was a mighty place that was said to have been formed due to the alliance between races of the world in order to fight back against a common evil terror, it was formed at the point of deep despair of the races when they fought yet lost terribly, when it was formed, it was like all the heroes of world had revived as the hall gave rise to legendary fighters whose names were known throughout the ages. Even though the stories had been since a long time ago, the hall was still very much known and was a sort of sacred ground in the hearts of everyone. The main hall was said to be situated high above in a mysterious location in the clouds or something, which meant that although this location couldn’t be described as in the clouds in any way, the symbol was unmistakable, this place could only then be a branch location of the hall but still a part of the hall no less, the excitement I felt from witnessing these legendary sights was nothing small to say the least. I stared at it for a while before we were  ushered in by Adam  who looked perfectly normally and unaffected, very soon we walked through the corridor of the building and arrived in a reception, it was a big space that radiated prestige even as we couldn’t see much of any decorations in the hall, we could see without much obstructions up to a far distance, here people of all shapes and sizes were present as they walked through, I had never seen so many different people but I was sure that they were all from different races, I even saw a person who had flaming red lines streaking all over his body, they wriggled all over him like tiny flame worms and I noticed that the air seemed different around him as it twisted and warped oddly. I moved slightly out of his way even though I wasn’t in it and watched him move to the corridor where we just passed through before I turned back to the front again with a shrug, that guy was obviously not your average joe.   I threw him out of my mind so I didn’t notice when two seconds later he paused his steps then turned around to take a good look at our group, his eyes weren’t on me though, he stared down Harry for a while before he turned around and murmured something under his breath before he finally left. Unaware of a strange gaze just passed over us, we continued our walk as we headed deeper into the hall with Adam as our ever present guide, honestly I always like a child following after his big older brother, sticking to him like glue, it was embarrassing to say the least… Very soon we were at the counter of a fairly beautiful woman, probably in her late twenties as she faced us with a professional air and greeted politely, “May I ask why we have our esteemed visitors here today.” Instead of replying, Adam  waved his hand as a holographic badge appeared within it, it looked somewhat like an identity badge or something save for the fact that there wasn’t a picture or whatsoever on it, only a symbol was present on it as it radiated prestige and might, surprisingly it was the same symbol displayed outside on the front of the building, a rose as black as the deepest night complete with the stem and thorns was cast on a golden background that only served to highlight the rose more, spread over on the background were six points of silver-white flower shaped light shining like stars in a golden sky. With their brilliance, a halo of silver-white surrounded the black rose, adding a kind of divine luster to the thorny flower. When the woman behind the counter saw the badge and the noted the number of stars, she visibly trembled a little before she broke into a bigger smile than previously that seemed sweeter and more welcoming than usual before she spoke up again “Oh forgive me for not recognizing one of our esteemed Viridian orchid experts, I hope you don’t blame me sir…” Right now, we were all wide eyed with open mouths as we stared at Adam  in disbelief, the scene just now seemed to hint at who Adam was or something. Although I was ignorant about a lot of things due to how my life had been going, I knew such a woman working for the one and only hall would never be so courteous unless to someone whose strength or prestige demanded it. Adam  being the center of attention at the moment just gave a faint smile as he spoke calmly without a ripple of emotion in his eye, “It’s okay, there’s no problem. Let’s just get straight to business…”, then he pointed to the three of us as he said, “I aim to bring in these three as members of the hall, you don’t need to do anything special, just enter them into the hall’s database and hand them their badges, that’ll be all I need of you.” Hearing what he had to say, the woman gave us a quick scrutinizing glance, surprise passing and going as quickly as it appeared in her eyes as she seemed to have noticed something. Nevertheless she remained professional as she nodded her head, gave a polite acknowledgement as she began to tap away on a sophisticated device. A little while later, after a load of questions to which Adam  gave mixed answers, she tapped a final button, and the few lines of words that summed up our identity popped up in sight,                                         Hiya Corian                                         Race: Human                                         Class: Nil                                         Hall rank: White lily                                                                                  Harry Axon                                         Race: Human                                         Class: Berserker [Tier one]                                         Hall rank: White lily                                         Isaac Alexus                                         Race: Human                                         Class: Will Meister [Tier one]                                         Hall rank: White lily The details on the screen was a mix of lies and truths, yet no one but the owners of the identity knew that. Hiya stared at the screen with her information that couldn’t be any more different, she looked on as her eyes gleamed with a strange light, a while later she said as she murmured to herself, “What am I getting myself into, it seems I’m not the only one here with some secrets hm.”
