Walking down the streets of Sarang we were continuously dazzled by what we saw. Since we didn’t actually come into Sarang through the normal way which was actually the gates and only opening to Sarang , we were a bit lost as we wandered about, but that didn’t stop the dazzles of Sarang from entering our eyes.
One thing was the fact that we were seeing way more elves than we would ever have imagined, although we also actually saw a couple of people here and there who were of other races, since this was Sarang the home of the elven, the elves were basically of the largest number.
We walked on the ground as Harry was already suggesting we take a ride or something. The mode of transportation that I was familiar with were carriages pulled by different types of animals, but here we hardly saw carriages, in fact I could say it was non existent here, what we did see here that was a mode of transportation were trans-portational shifters or so it was called, which I heard was shortened to TRAPS for short. It was a device like what I had been privileged to experience twice, more like the second one I went through but smaller in size. The catch involved in this one though was that it was of a fixed transfer point, meaning the co-ordinates… uhnnn… I’m not supposed to be able to use these words or talk in this manner yet…
The traps had fixed locations and could not send people to other places than where it had been told to, much better. So we could only use it if we had a place in mind that we knew of… Actually all these things were what Adam had told as he explained some other things to me, as for how he got knowledge of it I could never be sure.
Although we were aware of the traps we couldn’t use them due to it’s perks, the only other way to speed up our movement was flight. In the legends I had listened to since young about elves, I had been told that elves were divine spirits who had control of the air and wind, complete control which originated from being birthed from the wind itself. Today I actually witnessed the truth behind those words, the usage of the traps was for an instantaneous teleportation to another point somewhere else, but it didn’t allow for much flexibility if the place you were going to was a way off from the destination. Hence flying was preferred at some points.
Overhead we could see flying figures up above our head, the elves could fly like it was something they were born to do, I didn’t understand how they did it but what I was told was that it was due to their affinity and mastery of the wind. I couldn’t guess the age of these elves by their faces since they all looked young and picturesque, but I could definitely see that from the elves of the smallest size to those of the tallest, they all could fly, only that some seemed unsteady while some glided around perfectly like a bird.
When I was young, to fly in the sky was a thing of legends. I had hardly ever seen anything other than birds flying. So seeing figures in the sky basically moving in the air like they owned it was an eye opening experience, on the way I asked Adam how it was possible for us to fly, he said, “you mean humans?,…” he gave a chuckle in between, “Humans can’t fly Isaac, not unless you’re a tier 8 or a genius at tier 7, keep a hold on your dreams for you…”
“What do you mean by tier 8 or a genius at tier 7…”
“… You’ll know pretty soon.”
After getting the usual vague response, I could only keep shut while I fumed inside at the world’s insistence on keeping me in the dark.
While I was silently following behind, I heard a murmur by my side as the voice carried a tone of disbelief, “Unbelievable…”
I looked to my side as I made eye contact with a pair of amethyst crystals, her eyes hold shock and confusion, as Hira noticed me turn to look at her, she gave me a long stare before she looked back to the front, not saying another word.
‘What’d I do…’
After walking around for a while, we came to a stop at the front of a building, the elegant neon sign read ‘Comfy Inn’. Somehow I could guess that this was a place you to sleep in. behind Adam ,we immediately got to the receptionist’s counter, the shiny material it was made of made the whole scene look refined. No one asked anything as we just waited at the back, although I wondered how I was able to guess what this place was, I didn’t give it too much thought. While there were elves everywhere we looked, surprisingly the receptionist we met was a human, she had a dulled expression like nothing could ever faze her.
After a conversation with Adam , she gave him a card and a few instructions and then I tallied along we went deeper into the building, we finally had to use a trap as the lounge was at the fifth floor of the building, I seemed oddly comforted in this place as we moved to a door. As I predicted subconsciously, Adam waved his hand down a device with the card in his hand and following a beep and a green light, we heard a click and we saw the door beside the room opening slightly,
“Exactly like it is, how is this real…”
I heard a murmur and my eyes moved from the slightly opened door to Adam , he had an odd expression on his face as his eyes held surprise within. I couldn’t help but ask, “what is it?”
But he shook his head with a faint smile as he pushed the door and allowed it to swing open, stepping in he said, “It’s nothing brother…”
“…”
