“Order of will… order of will… order”
Thoughts flashed through Adam ’s head as his mind drifted around on the words that Isaac said, ‘He received an Order class… I never knew there could be such a coincidence like this, an Order in the past and yet still an order in this completely different world with completely different laws governing it, even the acquisition of power is different…’
They were back in the inn they spent the previous night, it had already about five hours since Isaac had passed out, the group had nothing to do hence so they sat around as they waited for something to happen, Adam was in a corner of a room that was oddly shadowy, looking vague and cold as his features couldn’t be seen, while he was in a mind of his own, he ignored the gazes from Harry who was staring at him with an odd look in his eyes.
The sun rays peaked through the dusky sky as it landed on a calm face with his black and gold hair scattered all over around him reaching his shoulders.
His eyelids twitched as he slowly opened his eyes to the well-crafted silver ceiling above him, the silvery white of his eyes gaining focus as the weariness within it cleared.
He remained completely still as he stared aimlessly, his eyes reflecting the thoughts going through his mind.
The quiet scene was broken off as a voice cut through the silence, “How are you doing…”
His face twitched as the suddenness of the voice startled him a bit, but he ultimately fared better than he previously would have. A sense of familiarity bubbled within him as he rose to a sitting position from the bed he was on, he looked at Adam who hadn’t bothered to use the door into the room as he said, “What happened?”
Adam stared at him as he noticed the calmness that Isaac showed after finally waking up, “Well you passed out from… something, it doesn’t seem like you’re hurt or something but the tower was the last thing you encountered before you fainted… you remember what happened to you right…”
Clutching his head in response, Isaac replied quietly, “I don’t quite remember it, not vividly at least, it’s a blur in my head.”
“That’s fine, don’t force it if you can’t remember…”, Adam said as he sank into his thoughts again, he couldn’t help feeling slightly worried now, maybe it wasn’t as safe and okay as he thought the origin pillar to be, although Isaac looked okay, he ultimately fainted after coming back out and now he didn’t remember a single thing. It was during his thoughts that Isaac said something that forced his thoughts out with a big shock.
“Ayo…… it’s you Ayo right…”
Adam stared blankly at the shirtless young man on the bed, his mind was frozen as expectations filled him,
Isaac let out a weak laughter as he said, “I know that’s a stupid question, you don’t look a single bit different… I guess I’m feeling a bit woozy and unsure right now…”
It was only after a while that Adam finally managed to open his mouth to speak, a faint smile forming on his face, “It’s been way too long bro, I thought you’d never come out of it…”
With a faint smile of his own, Isaac replied, “come out of what exactly…”
The smile on Adam ’s face grew odd as he spoke again, “You were supposed to regain your memories of the past after Astral awakened inside of you, unlike the others, Astral awakened much later than the assumed time and then you took even longer to gain your memories back…”
Isaac looked at this friend of his that he had just truly met again today before he shook his head, “Actually Ayo, I should tell you that other than who you are I don’t quite remember anything else…” Adam ’s smile grew smaller as he listened to Isaac speak, “…I just suddenly have knowledge of who you are, I don’t quite understand how but that’s like the only other thing in my mind now, as for the rest you said, I can’t remember anything of it, I don’t even remember where and how I knew you, or how your name is now different from what I knew… is there anything I’m forgetting”
Adam had a look on his face that showed he was in deep thought, after a while he finally raised his head as he looked at Isaac and smiled again, he had probably smiled now In these few days than he ever had in a long while, “Well I don’t think you should bother thinking about it for now, if you can remember who I was then you’ll remember the rest sooner or later, it’s a bit odd I’ll agree but it’s nothing to think about, you probably remembered me quicker since we’ve been spending some time together already, when you’re going to remember the rest of the things you will… now how are you feeling, you want to talk about anything?”
Isaac paused in silence for a while before he spoke up “You’re right, if there’s anything I’m forgetting, it’ll come back soon. I feel the same like nothing’s changed except for the fact that I somehow feel the world around me in my sight has changed, I can sense more things than usual, but I can’t focus much now, I think I’m still feeling a bit off.”
“Can you tell me why we’re here now in this place…”
Adam then opened his mouth to talk, he was at an impasse with his emotions, he couldn’t decide if he should be happy or sad, he felt like both now but he shrugged it off as he explained, “We came here to find someone, a certain friend of ours, since you don’t remember any other thing, there’s really not much use in describing who, when you see her, you’ll probably remember her as well, so let’s wait till then.”
Isaac’s smile seemed helpless as he spoke, “Why do you always like making things vague…”
“Trust me bro, I don’t. You’ll see everything soon and I don’t think putting information forcefully in your mind when you’re like this is a good idea…”
A short silence later, Isaac let out a sigh “How long have I been passed out?”
“About two days…”
“Oh… that’ s a long time.”
“Yeah it is, now what’d you want to do”
Confusion in his eyes, Isaac replied “What’d you mean, you’re the one who’s been making the decisions, why ask me now”
Adam chuckled a little as he realized he was subconsciously already slipping back to the subordinate position after Isaac was seemingly gaining his memories, it was okay anyways, there wasn’t anyone who wouldn’t be content with following him if they knew him for who he was, in the past and in the present still.
