The details of the ‘Internal fortification’ skill had all rushed into my head and filled my mind with a good amount of euphoria and excitement at the thoughts of truly understanding what being overpowered meant. The possibilities with the ‘Internal fortification’ skill all depended on the body itself, that in and of itself was its only limit. But even without that, I knew I could wield such immense strength and power all of a sudden. The unimaginable possibilities I had in mind would only be possible at a time in the future I couldn’t determine yet. There were a lot of reasons for the conclusion I reached.
The first reason was the fact that I was a fighter that fantasized about such unimaginable powers yet was only a class holder of the second tier. Any one person stronger than him or was one that had reached a high level to those that had reached a nigh invincible level with their strength would have been thoroughly amused at my thoughts. From what I could see, ‘Internal fortification’ would use up a good amount of willpower every time I use it, no matter the amount of willpower I have swirling within me. It was as a result of the seemingly infinite amount of potential it had. I could be sure of one thing even if it happened to have a limit, if by chance it did have a limit, then even that limit would probably have a strength that was beyond natural disasters and situations, it would be of an incomprehensible level of strength for the current me.
The second reason why it won’t immediately be at its possible strongest from the get go if I used it at my current level other than my discouraging amount of willpower was due to my constitution. At my current level, although I felt stronger than ever, I was still one of the weakest people alive at the moment. That was due to my low tier and my constitution. Many different races with different bloodlines were born with an advantage from the beginning, a head start if it were to be put in other words.
The elves like the ones we’ve been seeing in Sarang were born with a natural affinity for the wind that blows to every corner of the world, they could sense the flow of wind and gain its approval and blessings as easily as breathing, they were basically said to have been born from the wind. And they were not even at their strongest at that point as they had just been born and had higher bloodline ranks to scale. Another example were the faes we happened to encounter. They as well were those with an extreme affinity for the life breathed into any and all beings. At birth they could feel properly and influence the life flowing through the flowers and plants all around. And on growing stronger and shedding their wings, they gained an enlightened understanding of the breath of life within every and all single being, that was including even superior species and powerful races with amazing bloodlines. They were all that powerful and it was ordained to be so since the beginning of their existence and was affirmed with every new fae being birthed, although it was properly not all of them who reached that peak of understanding life.
Basically every single race with a bloodline that was unusual compared with humans had a constitution that was beyond the limits of what humans could achieve from the start. And although I was starting to suspect that I probably had a hidden bloodline and could see differences that was setting me apart from the others, I could still only feel the difference vaguely. Perhaps it was a stronger feeling now that the sun had appeared within me and I seemingly had advanced a rank in my mysterious ‘bloodline’ but my body was still not at the peak. As even those mentioned before with their ‘head starts’ wouldn’t have attained the strongest body from birth. It was something that involved growing in age and experience and was a law set that was said to be set by the world itself. It couldn’t be circumvented.
All of these things were things I had read about and learnt during when we hadn’t yet stepped into the tainted zone and were still staying in Sarang and enjoying the sights. When we weren’t doing things together in Sarang and while Harry and the rest did things I wasn’t aware of, I usually always took the chance to build up on the general knowledge I had that I knew was so little before now. Hence these were things I know knew. It was a fun experience, learning more and seeing new things. I was sure I knew better now, at least enough not to be embarrassing all the time.
Since I probably had a bloodline of sorts that I wasn’t aware of, then I was probably not going to have much issues with the physique part when the time came to strengthen it. In fact I actually felt the difference in my physique ever since I had woken up from the episode earlier, so I could be sure that it wasn’t going to be much of a problem.
The last reason that was probably the one reason why I couldn’t even attempt anything so easily was the fact that a skill like ‘Internal fortification’ was one that required a good amount of base knowledge, something I find somewhat impossible to possess at the current moment. the reason why it needed something like base knowledge? It was simple. The body of a living being, is one of the most complex things to exist. Going in from the outside was the somewhat fragile but durable defensive layer that was his skin, after which was the inside of his body that consisted of his muscles, bones and nerves along with various organs which were connected to an innumerable number of veins, arteries and capillaries that linked and joined together every single individual system into a larger complete and self-sustainable system. The description alone was a fascinating thing to visualize. And the immensity of its complexity couldn’t be explained with a few somewhat hollow words.
The basis of the ‘Internal fortification’ skill I now had was the ability to strengthen and enhance, albeit temporarily, the body with the willpower that I had. How that could be done was by passing willpower through every single cell and tissue, whether the hard ones like bones or the soft and fragile ones like the organs or the tenacious and flexible ones like the muscles, every single cell that each of them possessed had to be properly immersed and coated in willpower to allow for it to work normally. It was as complex as it sounds and would require a lot of my concentration and focus as well as the proper knowledge of the intricacies of the human body. I could already feel my head spinning from the thoughts as I pictured it.
I was going to have to look them up properly or probably just study on the go since I preferred some practicality compared to cramming up the theories. But thankfully there seemed to be a sliver of a silver lining as although the skill required all so much to truly show its might, it was possible to use with only a superficial layer of willpower, that was the barest minimum and was something I definitely could do, all I had to do was circulate my willpower to whichever part I intended to have strengthened.
It made it possible for me to use ‘Internal fortification at the moment with only my superficial knowledge backing me up, but like the saying went; ‘The more the efforts put in, the better the rewards received’. If I used the skill superficially like I could only do at the moment, then the strength of the skill would only be so-so at best; it wouldn’t be able to reach the highest strength. Still it was all I had at the moment, I would be forced to only be able to use it in its weak form although I was sure that it would still help to boost things significantly.
