"Son..son!"
He heard a feminine voice
"Uhuuh huhu *sniff* *sniff*"
and a crying wail of a man.
'Who...?'
His eyes opened slowly. His vision was still hazy and two blurs that he assumed were faces came into view.
His blurriness gradually improved as his vision returned. Now he can see who these voices belonged to.
"Son! You're finally awake! Thank goodness"
He saw a beautiful female. The woman looked like she was in her 30's but her youthful appearance made him question her true age. She wore eastern looking clothes that seemed fit for manual labor. Her skin was tan, probably from being constantly under the sun.
Surdeis' mind relaxed as he heard the woman's kind yet strong voice.
"Uhuup. We doud yu wer ded (we thought you were dead)"
The other one spoke but his heavy crying made him hard to understand.
The boy's eyebrows curved. After scrunching his eyes to make sure he isnt seeing things, he confirmed.
The man wore similar farming clothes. Its facial features and body structure were definitely those of a human.
However, it had ebony black skin, silver hair, red pupils, and a pair of sliced horn where only the base remained.
Surdeis knew too well what this man was.
This man is a demon.…
'What the f**k is going on?'
Just as he was thinking to himself demon hugged him tightly. He, in return froze in confusion.
"...Who are you?"
Both the human female and the male demon looked at him with shock.
He raised his heavy arms, but instead of seeing muscular forearms and callous-heavy hands, he saw nothing but skin and bones.
"...guh!"
Perhaps everything that had happened was too much, or he was too confused, he felt a sudden heavy headache.
His vision became a blur once again, and -
faint
...
While unconscious, memories from this body flowed to his brain.
...
"Sai! Sai! Don't die again! Saiii!!"
He regained consciousness as soon as he felt his body being violently shaken. The boy not older than 14 was woken up by the demon.
Pang!
"Sol stop shaking him!"
The demon stopped when the female punched his noggin.
"Sai did you lose your memory? I'm your mom, Julie, remember?"
"Julie? Sol?... Mom, Dad? What happened? "
Both of them sighed in relief. An apparent glow of happiness can be seen on both their faces.
"Yes honey, you fainted more than a year ago and never woke up. Ever since that day your mana disappeared bit by bit until..."
Tears fell as Julie said to the boy who looked confused.
What he remembered was his neck being slit. He was definitely killed by the hands of a demon.
'I died. but why am I here?'
To be sure, he checked his status.

Aside from the added confusion by the question marks in his unique ability, Surdeis, or rather, Sai was troubled by his horrible base stats.
But, he now had an idea.
'Hm? So, it's true then. my consciousness was sent to replace this lifeless husk'
He was transferred to another body; the question was why?
This boy was already dead but the faintest bit of mana remained through will power alone. However even will power has its limits and as soon as the boy's mana was depleted, through an unknown miracle, his mana replaced this body.
He looked at the body that was so frail that it looked like it was already dead. Still-
Gururu.
"looks like more than a year of hunger had finally hit you. Let me prepare something~"
Sai saw the expression of Sol turned sour as soon as Julie said she will cook. This body felt a shudder too.
Julie came out with what would confuse others but it was indeed food. For Sai it didn't matter as this body badly needs sustenance.
As soon as he was about to reach the bowl of unknown mess, his body hesitated, but he forced himself to take it. Sai hurriedly took a bite before his body stops him again.
"-urp!"
Absolutely inedible. The rabbit meat was raw. The rice was overcooked and the vegetables weren't properly washed.
Sai glanced at Julie's warm motherly face. Somehow her mother's face overlapped with Julie. He had no choice; how can he refuse her when she looked at him like that. Sai forcibly downed the contents of the bowl. With little chewing, he just swallowed everything, trying to finish the food as fast as he can without tasting it.
"Your mother's cooking is as good as you remembered it right~"
His mother said with a proud smile and a gentle look on her face. Sol however looked like he was praying to god that this boy won't die a second time.
He gasped for air after emptying the bowl.
"Euh....YUP!"
Sol looked at Sai with surprise. Sai obviously tried to throw up just now yet managed to say that it was delicious.
"Hehe that's what I thought! How about a second servi-"
Julie scratched her nose being obviously happy but as she was about to mention bringing out another batch Sol stopped her mid-sentence.
"Honey! uh. I think it's time to store our daily harvest"
"No! Sai's still hungry!"
Sol pushed Julie outside their small wooden house. He heard the couple conversing about something. Suddenly Julie's angry voice startled him.
"WHADDYA MEAN HE'LL DIE FROM MY COOKING!?"
Pang!
A few seconds later, Sol came back with an apologetic smile on his face while scratching the second bulge on his noggin.
"Haha sorry about that. I'll prepare you food next time. Howr'ya feeling"
Sol said with a wide grin to the dumbstruck boy.
Sai was still lost within the depts of his confusion. He shifted his gaze as he tried to gather his thoughts.
He couldn't look at the demon without recalling the atrocity that occurred in his previous life.
The demon that was smiling at him was a demon whose goal is to subjugate the world. He can't even forget how a demon's sword sliced his throat and ended his life.
But this one had a child with a human. From what he saw and based on this body's memories, Sol is very different from the demons that he knew.
Which was strange.
"I'm uh. I'm fine. I want to go out for a bit"
Sai unsteadily stood as Sol assisted him. He said his thanks then left.
Sai went to a nearby river. His silver unkempt hair and fair skin reflected on the gentle stream. He appeared to be human except for his dark crimson colored pupils and an emerging single horn above his left temple. In curiosity, Sai touched his horn.
'Half demon.'
Sai inhaled the cool fresh air and basked in the warmth of the bright yellow morning sun as he loosened his stiff body.
He had forgotten what peace felt like and took a moment to breathe in this atmosphere.
Even his life on Earth was hectic so appreciating simple pleasures like this was one of the things that gives him joy.
'I'm sure you would like it here Mom and Dad.'
He looked around and observed his surroundings. There he saw their small wooden house and the rice paddies where their family farmed.
Sai's eyes landed on his clothes and examined his outfit. It was a raggedy dark green loose robe. The way it was put together and worn, along with the distinctive design made him realize that this was not the same with those from Reilon or even from the whole continent of Euten.
This scenery was vastly different from the European middle ages he got accustomed to in his previous life. Instead it's replaced by the humble east Asian farm life.
Sai felt nostalgic, somehow it reminded him of his life in Earth.
'The eastern continent.'
The Eastern Continent of Sinen is formed by many different groups of islands and archipelagoes, different from the massive landmass that was the continent of Euten where Surdeis spent the remainder of his life.
Aside from the lost art of harnessing Ki, He knew very little about Sinen. Now that he thought about it, he knew little to nothing about other continents as well.
Sai sat by the river and closed his eyes. Soft sounds of rustling grass being swept by the wind entered his ears as the gentle summer air breezed his body.
Sai meditated and focused on sensing the mana circulating within. It flowed like a small trickling water. Comparing it to when he first came here, he can't help but see the difference with the mana contained within this weakly body.
'Even at level 1 the mana is the same with those of a level 3 human'
Sai felt the demon blood pulsating from his heart. It was what made the mana denser. Concentrating even further, he found a mysterious yet familiar condensed mana he can't yet figure out.
'The inherent mana of the demon blood isn't something to laugh at-''

[You now have learned -Mana Sense-]
[Mana Sense]
---
Sense the flow of Mana within your perception range.
---
Sai was startled when something popped up from his eyesight.
'It took me a week to learn Mana Sense before. Does that mean-'
"Sai? Sai!!"
His thoughts were interrupted by a female voice calling out to him.
'I, no. This body knows this person.'
"Rei?"
Rei Tsuriyama. This girl is 14 by now, the same age as Sai. Her long silky black hair danced up and down her shoulders as she run towards him with tears streaming down her rose-pink colored cheeks. The white Shinto priestess outfit only added purity to her vestal charm.
The moment he saw her, memories flooded his brain.
Because they were of the same age and their fathers were friends it was inevitable that 'Sai' and this girl would be close.
Before he woke up, his weak body became more and more evident and Rei treated him like a little brother she had to protect. Their friendship strengthened when her older brother trained to be a [Gon-Negi], a class similar to [Cleric], to continue the tradition from her mother's side of the family of priesthood and shrine maidens.
"You. You... I never believed you were dead…"
Tears fell on her soft pearl white face and her rosy cheeks turn red.
"Looks like I'm not hehe."
Sai scratched his head after giving an awkward reply.
Looking behind her, he saw hateful gazes on his direction. Sai took a glance towards them.
"The scum lives huh"
"Why don't you go die already."
"Hehehe zombieee~"
Sai unconsciously clenched his fist the moment he saw the group of youth wearing dark blue robes. His body remembered them.
These three were from the Buri clan. One of the three powerful clans serving the feudal lord of their region.
The Buri family is a known supremist clan. These youths' spiteful words to him was only natural since he harbors blood from another race.
Hostility to other races are quite common and scenarios like these can be found throughout the world. But he was still uncomfortable with it.
'Scum.'
That word ringed in his head and the image of the policemen that murdered his family surfaced. Rage filled his being. killing intent shot through his eyes as he shakily stood to confront them.
"Huh? Wanna piece of me scum?"
"Scaryy zombieee"
"Don't waste time on insects. Your father is waiting for you at the city"
A pale man wearing an expensive dark blue haori gave him a scornful look as if he was looking at trash before signaling the others to continue walking.
"Tch. Just because these lands belong to those assho- people. Just you wait..."
The youth that seemed the oldest among the three shifted his eyes to Rei and said before leaving with a sinister smile on his face.
[Mana Sense]
Sai noticed the two had approximately the mana of a Level 8 human. While the eldest had those of a Level 13 with traces of a Class selection. However, the pale man gave an ominous aura that can't be read.
As soon as the group from the Buri clan left, Rei yelled at Sai.
"Don't act rashly! I don't have to remind you how frail you are! You just woke up and you're already starting a fight. Sheesh!"
Rei's words were like a splash of cold water. What he did was indeed rash. With their current levels the difference was like a chihuahua and a Pitbull.
"I'm aware of how weak I am."
He said with a clenched his fist. Glimpses of his misfortune surfaced on his mind as he thought of his incapability.
"Sai, I think you should rest first."
Seeing the boy reply dejectedly, Rei said with a worried look on her face. It had been a year since this boy went into coma yet now, he's already looking for a Deathwish.
"...yeah."
Rei joined him. The two conversed as they walked to his home.
"I'm wondering, what year is it?"
"you've been asleep for so long you forgot. Uhm..."
Rei thought for a moment with a hand in her chin.
"It's the 2nd day of the 3rd moon, year 772 now."
'Year 772'
Sai's head spun as he heard the year. Trying to recollect himself he recalled the years in his previous life.
It was the year 774 when the demon nether portal opened. It was the year 778 when the united demon army and the children of original sin reached the world tree and 'he' died in battle.
Wait...
'I traveled back in time?'
