Jane’s POV
It was a calm night. The full moon cast its shadowy light onto the ground. I was driving back home after a long day at work. Since I was demoted, I chose to live my life in a way that would make me feel happy without worrying about many things. After all, everyone wants that. We all want to live a peaceful life. Even Cassie and Jaxon were fighting for that, but it shocked everyone when Jaxon’s father robbed their wedding. Life is unpredictable sometimes.
When I reached home, Billy ran to me. He hugged me and happily received the strawberries I had bought for him. He was always the reason for my smile, and I always wanted the best for him.
“Hello, Mom. Dad was very upset today, and I was petrified,” he said, looking worried.
I knelt in front of him and looked into his eyes.
