Jaxon’s POV It was raining to an extent that I wasn’t even able to run with my boots on. My legs were painful, but I couldn't stop. My enemies were going to catch me. I hid behind a big tree and listened. Their noise was closer, their torches flashing in my direction. I wondered how they hadn't lost my track, but as the dogs barked, I knew the dogs already had my scent. However, it was raining, so I wondered why they kept on my track unless they knew I was going to the mines. After catching my breath, I checked my phone. It was already dead from the rain. I had no plastic to protect it from the water. The situation became intense because my communication with Jane was destroyed. The barks from the dogs were getting closer. I checked my stopwatch on my wrist and realized it was also dead.
