Cassie’s POV I screamed, standing at a distance as the police took him. They didn’t allow me to get closer. They pushed him forward, and he lost his balance and fell down. He tried to stand up, but it was hard. If they didn’t have guns, I would have fought for him. He didn’t even try to defend himself or fight back, but they kicked him. He was on the ground. They stepped on him. They dragged him, and he screamed. I knew pain was straining his sensory nerves. Tears ran down my cheeks until I tasted their saltiness on my lips.
