AARON'S POV When I eagerly texted Amelia about the charity auction, I had no idea she was going to turn me down. I know she wanted me to give her space and all that, but I thought we had nothing to fear if we were together in public. Well, I thought wrong because she was adamant about going alone. I knew there was no point in arguing about it, so I made sure to arrive there earlier than usual. She might feel lonely when she enters the hall. Seeing a familiar face might help. That was the least I could do for her. I made sure to stay close to the entrance so I could spot her upon arrival. I knew the exact moment her car pulled up, but I couldn't rush out because I was being engaged in a silly conversation with one of the few men I can't actually afford to cross in the industry.
