CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

1334 Words

AMELIA'S POV It was another slow week. With the heavy workload I've taken on, I thought it would be Thursday by now, but it was just Tuesday. I groaned loudly, which sent Nina running into my office. “Are you alright, Miss Jenkins?“ “Yes. I'm just tired. Do you mind making me a strong cup of coffee? Black.“ “Yes, Miss Jenkins.“ “I need something to wake me up.“ She went out and came back a few minutes later with a hot cup of coffee. “You need to slow down, Miss Jenkins.“ “I'm fine. The week just seems to be dragging on.“ “But it's just Tuesday.“ “I know. I feel like it's Thursday already.“ “Oh.“ “Yeah. Anyway, don't worry about me.“ “Yes, Miss Jenkins.“ I still can't believe that the last time I saw Aaron was barely five days ago, and it already seemed like a lifetime ago.
