Dillon moved from the door and waved them in. Talia came in first, followed by Finn and Victor, who was looking down at the floor. His eyes raised to look at me and he seemed distraught. Victor rarely showed emotions on his face, so this was definitely different. He came closer to me, flanked by the other vampires. They were ready to grab him if he came after me. I winced as I sat up in the bed. “I’m so sorry, Grayson. I was watching Echo sleep and you moved. I was suddenly filled with rage and it was like I was pulled from control of my body by the anger. I wanted to kill you, but I didn’t want to kill you. I pulled back as much as I could. All I could do was watch.” Victor explained. “I’m not going to say it’s okay, because it’s not. It will be, though, and you can make it up to me.
