Alexa sat across from Nathan, her eyes filled with curiosity and concern. They had been cowokers for 6 month, but there was something different about Nathan today. He seemed burdened, as if carrying a heavy secret.Since I told him what Jason said, I didn't want to completely believe Jason there must be a mistake
"Nathan, what's been bothering you lately?" Alexa asked gently, I was waiting patiently to hear the foul word from his mouth, I was really disappointed I trusted him and he has saved me countless time but am ready to forget all that and fight for the weak, I can't let what happened to me happen to anyone again, I was tired of seeing the week been oppressed. The atmosphere was getting hot and intense and I was staring at Nathan in a disgusting way, he opened his mouth and I was patiently waiting to hear what he would say
Nathan sighed, his gaze fixed on the table. "It's about what my family did to Jason's family," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.
Alexa's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean? I thought your families were close."
Nathan nodded, his expression pained. "We were, or so we thought. You see, Jason's father bought a piece of land years ago, and my family always believed it was rightfully ours. But the truth is, it wasn't."
Alexa's eyes widened in shock. "Wait, are you saying that your family took Jason's land?"
Nathan nodded again, his voice trembling with guilt. "Yes, they did. But here's the bitter truth, Alexa. Jason's father didn't actually buy the land that my family claimed was ours. He bought a completely different piece of land nearby. My father knew this, but he was too ashamed to admit it to our family. So, he lied."
A mix of anger and sadness washed over Alexa's face. "That's... that's terrible, Nathan. How could your family do something like that?"
Nathan's shoulders slumped, his guilt weighing heavily on him. "I know, Alexa. I've been carrying this secret for so long, and it's eating me up inside. I can't bear the thought of what my family did to Jason's family, all because of a lie."
Alexa reached out and squeezed Nathan's hand, offering him comfort. "Nathan, you can't shoulder the blame for your family's actions alone. But now that you know the truth, what are you going to do?"
Nathan looked up, determination flickering in his eyes. "I have to make things right, Alexa. I need to confront my family and tell them the truth. It's the only way to begin healing the wounds we've caused."
Alexa nodded, her support unwavering. "I'll be right there with you, Nathan. We'll face this together."
As they sat there, hand in hand, a newfound resolve filled the air. Nathan knew that revealing the truth would be painful, but it was a necessary step towards redemption. And with Alexa by his side, he felt a glimmer of hope that they could mend the broken bonds and bring justice to Jason's family.
