The sun had set, and the lands were all engulfed in complete darkness as midnight was fast approaching. Esther sat boredly against the window of her carriage, staring into the darkness that her light red eyes could see clearly in. Her body subtly bounced to each bump on the road, rubbing her fingers together. She kept her legs crossed, dressed in her usual pants and shirt and a pair of leather heel boots. Still watching the passing trees in the forest path—the carriage rode over something—and it wasn't a rock. Her body almost lost balance off her seat, causing her to grunt.
