Claud’s POV I scurried to my stable, locking the door when I pulled them closed. The new wood there would hold at least of that I was sure. “Come on silver, let’s get a move on.” I hauled my saddle over to my old Kentucky Saddler, the worn horse whinnying softly as I strapped him up. “I know, boy. I’ll give you plenty of sugar cubes when we get back. I looked both ways before heading out the back of my barn, not wanting to alert the rest of the town to what I was doing.
