June’s POV “Are they here?” I whispered to Hank as we settled into our seats, the whole town gathered around us as Sheriff Hall settled himself at the ivories. “They are. Almost everyone’s avoiding them, so it looks like they got the balcony all to themselves.” He chuckled, just as the lifter began to dim in the hall. “Hey, June! Hey Hank! Do ya mind if I sit here next to ya?” Jake smiled at us as he came in with his mother, the woman looking prim and propped in her Sunday best. “Sure kid, plenty of room.” Hank smiled at him, removing his hat from the seat next to us.
