Chapter 25: Ana“Bye, Tia Ana. Thank you for the ride,” shouted Rodrigo after clambering down from the truck. “Bye, Tia Ana,” echoed Elena as she balanced on the running board before jumping to the ground. “Thank you.”
“Bye, you two. I love you.” Ana watched them hop-skipping across the yard in their disheveled wedding finery, and her lips curved into a smile. She did love her nieces and nephews, especially the two younger ones.
“Great party, wasn’t it?” Carmela had sauntered over, having shooed the children toward their trailer, and Ana stopped on the porch to wait for her.
“Great. And Yolanda looked really nice. She hardly showed, which surprised me, considering how far along she is.”
