Chapter 23: LaurenCraig was still glued to the TV when Lauren got home from Victoria’s house, and she was actually happy about that. She sure wasn’t in the mood to face him and instead left him where he sat on the couch. He hadn’t even bothered to get up and greet her. Had he even noticed she was gone? Probably not, unless he needed something to tide him over during half-time.
Banging dishes around, Lauren involved herself in making dinner, even though she wasn’t feeling much like eating herself. Dinner was a lot less stressful without Silke there, but also a lot more lonely. As usual, Craig shoved forkfuls of food into his fat face, limiting conversation.
