Chapter 39: Lauren“Have you ever been on a safari?”
“As in Africa? Nope. You?”
“No, and not sure I ever want to, honestly. This is the next best thing. Close encounters with wild animals from the comfort of your air-conditioned vehicle. We can even feed them.” Lauren paid the entrance fee to the wildlife park and purchased two paper sacks of animal feed pellets which she deposited unceremoniously in Silke’s lap.
“Feed the animals?” Silke exclaimed in mock horror. “The lions, too?”
Lauren laughed. “Nothing that wild, don’t worry. Mostly things like llamas and longhorn cattle and some other kinds of hoofed animals. There’s even a petting zoo near the gift shop.”
