When I first saw Stella, I was jealous. She was beautiful. She was tall and skinny with a perfect hourglass figure. Her hair was so light it was almost white. As I got closer to them, I realized that there was nothing real about her. Her hair was bleached blonde, and she had tons of make-up on.
Her bright red nail polish matched her bright red lipstick, and she was just standing there watching the guys. I was curious what she was doing at training with a mini skirt on, but then she opened her mouth, and it all made sense. The guys were yelling at me that it was about time I showed up, and they were waiting for me to partner off.
I pointed to the Barbie and told them that I thought they had a new partner. They all looked at me like I had a third eye. Gavin smirked and rolled his eyes. "She might break a nail," he whispered to me. I gave him a smirk back and nodded.
Stella gave me a dirty look, “You can’t fight with them.”
“Excuse me, but why not?” I asked her. She had no idea how hurt I was, or how ready I was for a good fight.
“You’re a girl. Girls don’t fight. Especially not with my mate.” When she flipped her hair I almost lost it.
I turned around to face all three of the guys. They knew I was about to lose it. Damian gave me a pleading look, he didn't want me to fight with her. Gavin just smirked, he was always up for a good fight. I knew he would have my back.
Kain was always hard to read, he had a good poker face. I'm pretty sure that was part of his Alpha training. I knew him well enough though. I could almost hear him telling me to do the right thing.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down before I turned back to the Barbie.
"I know your new here. You might not be used to it, but in this pack everyone fights. We have to be able to protect ourselves and our pack members if we are attacked. I'm sure Damian can start training you." I said as I rolled my eyes and turned back to the guys.
We paired off, so Damian and Kain were fighting, and Gavin and I. Gavin threw the first punch at me but I caught his fist, and bent his arm back. Then I heard Stella mumble "That's gonna change when I'm Luna." That was it. I lost it.
She already took Damian from me. If she thought she was going to change the order of this pack, she was dead wrong. Kain would never say who was going to be his Beta or Gamma, but we all knew. They were an unstoppable trio.
They were born for their ranks. Kain was strategic, just like an Alpha needed to be. Gavin always had Kain's back. If Kain missed something, Gavin already had it figured out. Damian was a natural protector, I always knew that he would be the perfect Gamma. He would not only protect his Alpha and Luna with his life, but the whole pack. He definitely had the muscle to do the job.
I spun around and got in her face. "Listen b***h. I don't know what Damian has or hasn't told you, but you will never be Luna. In case you didn't know, Damian's father is the Gamma here. Kain and Gavin's parents are Alpha and Luna. Which means Kain is the next Alpha. His mate will be Luna, not you."
She rolled her eyes at me and I pulled my arm back to hit her. Damian was already expecting it and he grabbed my arms from behind and pulled me back. "Not today, sunshine," he said as he turned me away from her. I knew she was his mate but he looked miserable. I didn't miss the smirk he gave Gavin as he pulled me away from his barbie.
Once I met her, I understood what he meant when he said that the mate bond was strong, but he wasn't sure that he liked her. She was nothing like him. The Moon Goddess had to be playing a trick on us.
I had to step away. I wasn't as ready as I thought I was to face them. I did the right thing and I went home. I watched from behind the scenes for awhile. I would see them together in the dining hall, and around the pack. Gavin would fill me in on their drama when we were at school.
I know I was hurt. Everything with them bothered me, but I thought that maybe I could accept it better if she was a better person. I would still be able to hang out with my friends. As it was, I felt like I lost everything, my lover and my best friends.
I didn't know how Damian was putting up with her, but everytime I saw him, he looked miserable. I remember watching them in the dining hall one day. I didn't need to be close to them to tell that she was complaining. I watched silently as Damian kept getting up and down to get her different food or drinks. I just sat there thinking you i***t, make her get it herself.
I could tell that he was annoyed, but Damian, being the honorable man that he is, did it anyway. He was trying to make his mate happy and I couldn't fault him for that. He was different with me. He knew I would never stand for some guy waiting on me hand and foot.
I had to laugh knowing that if I was complaining like that, he would tell me to quit being a brat and eat. We loved to trash talk each other. It kept our relationship fun and interesting. We never knew what the other person was going to say. When it came to talking to each other, neither of us had a filter.
Stella was only at our pack for about two months. Luckily, the guys were smart, and always stuck together. It turned out that she wouldn't accept that Damian was not the future Alpha. She actually wanted Damian to challenge Kain for the Alpha title once it was passed down.
From what I heard, Damian lost it. He told her there was no way he was going to challenge Kain. He never wants to be the Alpha and wouldn't take the job if it was handed to him. If she couldn't accept it, then she could leave. I guess she cried and pouted about it for a few days.
When that didn't work, she came up with a new plan. She gave in and told Damian that she would still accept him, but then tried to seduce Kain behind Damian's back. I laughed so hard when Gavin told me about it. I guess she started flirting with Kain every time Damian wasn't around. Then she got brave.
She told Damian that she needed to shift but didn't want him to see her wolf yet. She wanted Kain to go with her. They all know it was weird but they didn't know what she was really up to. They decided to let her think they were going along with it, but instead they set her up. They needed to see what she was planning.
Damian and Gavin hid in the woods, and Kain led Stella to where they could see her. Kain, being the gentleman he is, turned around to give her some privacy to shift. Instead of shifting, she stripped out of her clothes, and leaned against a tree. When Kain turned around, instead of seeing a wolf, he was looking at a very excited and naked Stella.
She tried begging him to sleep with her, but of course, he refused. That was the last straw. Damian and Gavin both came out of their hiding spots, and caught her red-handed. Damian was furious, and told her he would never be with someone that wasn't loyal, and that he couldn't trust. He didn't care that they were fated mates. She needed to leave.
She didn't wait for him to reject her. She was so mad and embarrassed, I guess it made her feel better to reject him first. I felt bad that he had to go through the pain, but it was definitely for the best. She was horrible.
Once Stella was gone, and Damian and his wolf got through the physical pain of the rejection, he seemed like himself again. I started hanging out with the guys again, but things were not the same between Damian and I for awhile. After everything that happened, we tried to just stay friends. Neither one of us wanted to hurt each other ever again.
Damian told me that even after he met Stella, I was all he thought about. We both knew that fated mates were supposed to be the most amazing love there was. He had to give it a chance, and I had to let him go. It took his wolf awhile to accept her rejection and let go of the mate bond, but eventually he accepted it.
The two of us just being friends thing, didn't last too long. We couldn't keep our hands off each other. He didn't even have to touch me. I would be soaking wet just from looking at him. We struggled to get time alone. No matter where we went in the pack, people were around.
That's when Damian bought the cabin. It was a special place that only the two of us knew about. We would tell the guys we were going for a drive and we would spend the whole day out at the cabin. Those days were some of the best days of my life.
Once we got back together, we stayed together for a couple of years. With Damian by my side, I felt like I had everything I could ever need or want, but it ended too soon.
I'm an i***t, and I'm not any better than Stella. I went against everything Damian stands for. I let him and our pack down. I still cant forgive myself. I dont know how Damian can even look at me.
