Caspian abruptly stumbled as he materialized in the gardens of the palace, disoriented and confused. He spun around confusedly, images of the creature which had attacked still flashing in his mind. It was almost as if he had blinked and suddenly found himself standing in the middle of the garden, with bright flowers and plush grass beneath him.
He had no idea how he had managed to escape, but he found himself alone in the palace gardens, with no sign of Alaric or the creature.
As he turned around, he saw Lady Diana sitting on a bench, lost in thought. She was staring at him confusedly, startled at first and then her eyes widened with concern.
"Jurien, what happened?" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with fear. “How did you get here? And how come you have blood on your forehead?”
