CHAPTER 39 LAUREN MOSS Ápia is excited, and so am I, except mine is the kind of excitement that makes me question my entire life. And I’m terrified of doing something wrong that could end up killing someone who’s already suffering. It gets worse when I remember this isn’t about knocking out some random drunk vagabond with a syringe. This is being inside an actual crime scene, and what a crime. It’s terrifying, painful, and disgusting. Anyways, the bright side—if I don’t mess everything up—is that the bastards behind this might finally be discovered and stopped. Although this isn’t exactly a small case that will be solved with just this mission. Anyways… It’s not that different from what they did to me in the previous mission. It’s still very early, and I’ll be wearing a mini skirt.
