“What do you need me to do?” I ask Amara as she opens her backpack and removes a hand mirror.
The creatures grow still and watch Amara intently, which makes an eerie feeling crawl down my wpin3.
Amara ignores them as she says, “I use the mirror to center my power. Sometimes I use it for astral projecting. Over the years, I’ve worked with other witches and scholars who have helped me perfect my art and control my power. I’m going to analyze the creatures’ spiritual auras and see what magic they hold.”
“Can you read their memories? I want to know where they came from.” I ask.
Amara shrugs, “I can’t read their memories, but I can trace and project into their immediate past,” she holds her index finger up as if a thought struck her, “but only as far back as a couple of days.”
