“Gordon?” Darcy watched as recollection dawned on Chief Grant and he dropped slowly into his desk chair. She nodded in response. “But...how? The Gordon case was one of my first, but...” Darcy stepped towards the front of his desk, feeling breathless and terrified. She wasn't sure if she was ready to hear what he may say. She was scared of the truth but didn't want to live in the dark. “Did I kill my mother?” She tried to sound strong but heard her voice waver as her lower lip trembled.
