Chapter18

Nicholas sat in his office pondering in what Norman had just told him when Antonia walked in.

"Sir, miss Elena would prefer to meet with you today and not tomorrow" she said.

"It's alright put her in my one of my free time" he replied dismissing her.

Antonia left leaving Nicholas to his thoughts, and suddenly his eyes lit up and idea had popped up in his head.

Quickly he rushed out of his office, "tell miss Berban she has to make time for me tomorrow, pay whatever you have to" he instructed Antonia before rushing off.

Meanwhile Daria was having a great time at the office, everything was moving smoothly until her head becan to ache.

As she got up to her feet flashes of strange images crossed her mind, totally overwhelming her.

Slowly her vision began to spin, holding unto her head Daria began to screamed in pain but no one could hear her as her office is sound proof.

Daria began to see blurry images that felt like a fleeting memory. The overload felt overwhelming and slowly she lost conciousness and slumped unto the floor.

Adi walked into Daria's office "I need the paperwork for..." Adi halted on seeing Daria on the floor.

"Daria" he screamed rushing to her side, "Daria" he kept calling out to her for any response, but she was out cold.

"Oh no it happened again" Adi trying not to panic lifted her in his arms and rushed out to the reception.

"Get my car" he ordered the chaffuer, who ran off. Jacob was informed by another staff, ran to meet the scene.

"What is going on" he asked worried, "Daria, my darling" he called out to her.

"I found her unconscious on her office floor" Adi replied speeding off to the hospital.

"Oh no my darling" Jacob sighed holding Daria. Daria was rushed into the ER and immediately her treatment commenced.

Jacob and Adi paced back and forth waiting for the doctor.

After thirty minutes the doctor came out to address them, "she's alright" he began trying to calm their nerves.

"Her brain was just trying to recall her memories, but her mind was rejecting" he explained but they both stared at him confused.

"It's like a feedback mechanism, a negative response" explain further.

"Why did it happen after so many years" Jacob asked still worried.

"Something must have triggered it, she may have been seeing things that a similar to her memories" he replied.

"Daria has no memory here" Jacob said, "we just moved to Romania last year, what could have triggered it" Adi inputted.

"I don't know probably only her could answer that" the doctor suggested.

"Daria doesn't know she had lost her memory" Jacob informed him, taking the doctor by surprise.

"That could be why she reacted that way" the doctor replied while thinking.

"Maybe you should tell her about it, so that it can help her mind adjust to the flashbacks in case of another emergency" the doctor advised.

"Thank you, can we go see her" Jacob requested, and the doctor nodded in response.

Jacob and Adi went straight to the ward we're Daria was sleeping peacefully.

Jacob looked concerned by her unconsciousness and looked at the nurse.

On cue she informed temperature that Daria was placed on a sedative.

Jacob and Adi shared a look of worry, "we should tell her when she wakes up" Adi said breaking the silence.

"No we can't, it's the same trauma that made her loose her memory in the first place" Jacob refused immediately.

"But the doctor said" Adi tried to reason with him, "I don't care what the doctor said, we are not putting her through that pain again" Jacob refused again.

"Okay" Adi replied backing off, silently he sat down, and his phone buzzed.

"I need to get to work, the office needs me" Adi got up to his feet.

"Okay go I'll stay, I may have to hire a nurse" Jacob said caressing Daria's hair.

"There's no need" Nicholas echoed as he entered the room, Jacob and Adi turned towards the voice.

"I will stay with her" Nicholas walked towards her bedside.

"Ahhhhh, there's no need for you to do that" Jacob declined politely.

"I insist, it's my duty" Nicholas urged further, Adi getting tired of the banter stepped in.

"Let him stay Dad you need your rest" he said tapping his father's back.

"Adi is right you need rest, Daria wouldn't want to see you stressed" Nicholas stated.

Jacob reluctantly agreed and decided to go with Adi, "please take care of my darling" Jacob requested, gazing at his sleeping daughter.

"I will" Nicholas assured him, as gazing at Daria.

Jacob and Adi left Nicholas with Daria, to watch over her.

"My love, what happened to you" he asked the sleeping Daria, without response.

Daria slowly opened up her eyes, turning her head to the side she spotted Nicholas, keenly scrolling through his iPad.

"Nicholas" Daria called out to him in a soft voice, immediately Nicholas put down the iPad and rushed to her side.

"I'm here" he said, gently brushing her hair to the side.

"What happened to me, where am I" Daria asked confused, "you fainted and your dad and brother brought you to the hospital" Nicholas answered fetching her a glass water.

"Oh my God" Daria exclaimed, "where are they?" Daria started worried.

"Adi left for work and your father had to rest" Nicholas replied, "enough of that, you have to rest okay" he s**t her after she tried to talk again.

"Okay" Daria closed her eyes again, "but I'm feeling much better" Daria began to complain.

"No!" Nicholas reprimanded, "the doctor said you need bed rest and that's what you will do" he continued closing her euesy with his palm.

"But I can rest without sleeping" Daria persisted, just then a commotion began outside the door.

"What's going on?" Nicholas head turned towards the noise, "hold on" he patted Daria I'm the head and went for the door.

"Let me in!!" Elena stood outside the entrance of the VIP screaming at the man standing guard.

"I can't let you in, not with permission" the guard insisted blocking Elena's part.

Frustrated Elena launched herself at the man "Daria, Daria your best friend is here to see you".

"Let me in please" Elena screamed, as the guard lifted her up like paper and took her out.

"Hold on" Nicholas called out as he stepped out of the room.

"Let her in" he commanded,as he turned back into the room.

"Thank goodness" Elena sneered at the man, shoving past him and ran into the room.

"Oh Daria, how are you" Elena fell into Daria's arms, "Adi, told me you were in the hospital, so I sneaked out of my shoot and came here".

"You didn't have to do that, I am fine" Daria replied, "don't crush her she needs rest" Nicholas cut on displeased by the affection.

"Oh sorry" Elena retracted"what happened to you" Elena asked worried.

"I don't know I just began to feel pain and then I fell and woke up in the hospital" Daria replied, "I don't remember what happened" she added.

"It's okay darling, your okay now that's that matters" Elena comforted her.

Elena's phone suddenly rang, her mood instantly changed, "hold on" she said and ran out to answer.
