We decided to go to the nearest club which was called Vive. On the way there I noticed Maisy pull out a key and snorted a little bit more molly. She gave one to me and I took it.
“I went for an interview at Augustus Enterprises yesterday.”I began. “I heard something I shouldn’t have. I’m worried about the integrity of the company Mai.” I was cut off as the driver told us we arrived
We got out and went towards the line at the door. We approached the bouncer and he waved us over and let us in. Two skanky girls girls shot us daggers. They looked like they had been standing there for a while.
Entering the club, I was blasted with the thudding music, smell of various alcohol, and sweat. People were dancing everywhere and it was hard to spot the bar it was so crowded. I started to head over but Maisy grabbed my arm to lead me up a set of stairs.
We reached a VIP area and she flashed him a card. He let us in and my mouth fell open as I looked at her. “They might have also given me some other perks.” She whispered in my ear. Her lips brushed over my earlobe.
There wasn’t much going on yet because it was so early in the night. We took advantage by taking a great spot with a couple of plush black sofas. A waitress approached us flashing us a big smile, “ Good evening ladies can I get you something to drink to start off your night?”
“Two double shots of tequila. Thank you..” Maisy yelled over the music.
“Wanna go dance after we take some shots?” I asked.
“Yes b***h! Let’s do it.” She laughed.
We took our shots and Maisy grabbed my hand at led me back downstairs to the dance floor.
It was not too cramped but there was a lot of people still. I finally let go all the terrible anxiety I was feeling from yesterday. Maisy and I danced for a while laughing and spinning together. I grind up against her and she held my hips. We were laughing so hard by the time we got off the dance floor. Maisy ordered us more shots. We drown them quickly and the waitress brought more.
“I need some air! Come with me.” She said into my ear.
I smiled and took her hand as she led me to a private outside deck area. It was a gorgeous night outside. Warm with a slight breeze of fresh smelling air. I looked over at Maisy leaning over the deck. She looked so blissful and beautiful. The wind was casually blowing her hair. She looked stunning. My heart jumped in my throat. “Fawn?” She turned to me with concern. “What we’re you saying in the car on the way over here?”
“Uh.” I hesitated and sighed. I did not know where to begin. I probably was going to sound crazy. “I went in for an interview yesterday. While I was there something f****d happened to my elevator card. I ended up on some random floor looking for a bathroom. I overheard two people talking about a girl they wanted to get rid of.” I spewed everything out quickly.
Her eyes were wide with shock. “Like fire?”
“No. It was more like get RID of.” I shook my head emphasizing the words.
She went silent and stared at me with her blue eyes.
“More shots ladies?” The waitress from before interrupted us. It scared the s**t out of me. She probably overheard our conversation.
“Yes!” We both exclaimed in unison. We both took our shots and waited for her to leave.
“I don’t know what to say Fawn. I believe you but maybe you misheard or misinterpreted.” Maisy insisted.
I was so frustrated at this point. I know what I heard. She was my oldest and closest friend if she didn’t believe me then…I don’t know.
“I need to use the bathroom.” I stated. My stomach had started to churn. I was feeling dizzy from the conversation and booze.
“I’ll come with you.” She tried to follow me.
“I am fine. I’ll be right back. I’m a big girl. I’ll meet you back at the sofas.” I assured.
Maisy nodded as I walked away. I made my way through the VIP area to the private bathrooms. My stomach was threatening to make a fool out of me at any moment. I made it to the ladies room, which was beautifully decorated, and headed straight for the toilet.
I knew something wasn’t right after I had let everything out. I still felt weird and dizzy. I tried to walk out of the stall and to the sink. The walls were spinning and blackening threatened my vision.
A woman appeared in the mirror behind me but I couldn’t see straight. Maybe it was Maisy. She looked kinda like her. I started breathing rapidly. My vision held black on the edges threatening to take over.
“Please…I think there is something wrong with me…” I struggled.
“Please…help me.”I stammered before passing out.
