Missing

Chapter 5

My thoughts were scrambling around in my head trying to understand what happened. I hadn’t realized that Juliana was leading me back into the VIP section to a table with a couple of very attractive men. I felt my face flush.

“This is my friend Baxter and my boss Mr. Pierce.” She motioned at the two men.

“Nice to meet you. My name is Maisy.” I shyly smiled at them.

Baxter was tall but not as big as the other man. He had gorgeous blue eyes and dirty blond hair. He had clean shaven face a smile to die for.

Mr. Pierce was a darker haired man who had some intense green eyes. He appeared very stern but he was also so hot. He was so f*****g tall and toned. I could even tell through his gray suit. I think these were probably the two most attractive men I had ever seen in my life. Mr. Pierce looked annoyed with my presence though.

Baxter took my hand and pressed a slight kiss on it saying, “Very good to meet you Maisy. How are you doing tonight?” He asked me in a very deep sexy voice.

“Great.”I lied and looked down as I blushed.

“I’m going to get you something to drink. You need it.”Juliana stated. “What do you want?”

“Okay….um I guess a double shot of tequila.” I smiled at her. Happy to not be alone or having to talk about the situation anymore. I just wanted to drink and let go.

“Baxter come with me.” Juliana grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the bar area.

Now I was definitely feeling awkward because it was Mr. Pierce and I left. He glanced at me. I looked away pretending to admire the club. He ignored me but I was practically drooling over him in my head. He was kind of a d**k though. He hadn’t said anything to me until they came back to the table with a waitress in tow. The waitress had a bottle of a brand I didn’t recognize and three double shots of tequila. s**t what was I getting myself into. I really couldn’t complain though because I was getting free drinks.

Juliana brought a glass over to me. I cheered the others and we drank them. I drank the other two shots and found myself asking the waitress for two or three more. It was clear the Baxter and Juliana had something going on. They would steal looks at each other and they were always touching. I definitely did not want to get in the middle of that.

We were all laughing and having a good time when Juliana excused herself to the bathroom.

“Juliana and I are probably gonna get out of here soon.” Baxter said to Mr. Pierce and I. Mostly to him though. “It was really great to meet you. Hopefully we can all hang out again soon.”

“Can I talk to you privately Baxter before you leave?” Mr. Pierce asked.

“Of course Cassian.” Baxter responded.

Cassian that must be his first name. They talked outside and Juliana and I sat down and spoke for a while. We were drunk and being silly. The men came back and interrupted our hard laughing. Disappointed I said goodbye to them and exchanged phone numbers with Juliana.

I went back to the table to grab my clutch and try to find an Uber.

“I apologize for my behavior tonight. Juliana usually doesn’t have the best company. Can I get you another drink?” Cassian moved closer to me. I could smell his cologne and it was driving me crazy. I started to feel heat rising through my body. God he smelled so good.

The waitress grabbed a couple more shots and brought them for us.

I took mine and then took one more. At this point I was surprised I wasn’t completely wasted.

“You said earlier you’re from out of town. What brings you here?” Cassian asked me.

“A job offer. Also I come at least once a year to see my best friend.” Guilt flooded through me. I had completely forgotten about Fawn. I was having so much fun. I needed to try to call her as soon as I got the chance.

“I see.” He responded to me. We were sitting pretty close that our legs were almost touching.

“I..uh..have to get going soon.” Flustered I glanced at the time on my phone. 2:00am

“Let me drop you off? I have a driver waiting already.” He smiled at me softly and ran his hand through his dark curly hair.

“I can just get an Uber.” I looked on the app again with no luck.

“There won’t be anyone out for a while usually this is when everyone goes home from the clubs and bars.” He explained looking down at my phone.

“Okay.” I gave in. “Thank you.”

“No problem.” He started to get up and I followed him out of the club to a waiting car. He got in the back seat with me. I didn’t know if this was a good idea. I had only met him maybe two or three hours ago. Drunk me didn’t care though so I decide to take the chance.

“Where are you staying? So I can tell my driver where to take you.” He was so close to me I didn’t realize I had been holding my breath.

“Uh.. The Augustus.” What was wrong with me? I literally couldn’t even speak right when we were alone.

Cassian put his hand on my thigh while he leaned closer to the driver tell him where to go. He leaned back and realized where his hand was. I blushed and tingles filled my body. He pulled his hand off and took a lock of my hair between his finger.

“You’re really beautiful.” Cassian said.

My mouth opened but nothing came out. I was shocked.

He laughed a little.

“Thank you.” I finally managed. We rolled through the city in silence for a little while. I watched the lights out the window trying to keep myself distracted.

Cassian stroked my cheek and put his other hand on my thigh.

“I really do apologize for my rude behavior earlier.” He insisted as we were pulling up to the hotel interrupting the silence.

“It’s okay it wasn’t that bad.” I smiled not wanting to have to get out.
