“I knew she was a w***e!” Kaitlyn sneered as she looked at me. “You slept with a mere driver after everything we’ve done for you. You should be ashamed of yourself!”
“You’re fired, Wayne. Get out of my house and leave everything to Victor. He will be my new driver.” Asher fumed as he released Wayne from his grip.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Stormfield. I’m sorry,” Wayne apologized as he rushed out the door and left.
Raya and her mother looked at me and shook their heads, looking at me as if they believed their own lie.
“She must leave the house, Asher. She can’t stay here after what she did to you. Lana has betrayed our trust and slept with our most trusted driver. We can’t allow that behavior, or she might sleep with our butler next time,” Kaitlyn sneered.
“When were you going to tell me you slept with Wayne?” Asher scowled as he leaned toward me. “Did you do that to spite me after everything I have done for you? Why did you get married to me if you knew I wasn’t enough of a man for you?”
“I didn’t sleep with him.”
“Stop lying to me!” He punched the wall next to me, and I looked at him, gasping.
I knew he would never lay his hand on me, but seeing him so angry at me made me scared.
“Mom and Raya, please get out. I want to speak with my wife alone.”
“She cheated on you, Asher. You saw the video footage. She must leave the house before she betrays you with someone else,” Kaitlyn insisted.
“Leave!” Asher commanded them as he tilted his neck and looked at them.
They didn’t hesitate as they walked out the door and closed it behind them. My heart raced as he turned his gaze and looked at me.
“Wayne had been my driver for over five years before we met. He has never lied or betrayed me. If you want me to choose who I believe between you and him, it would be him. It’s a pity I had to fire him because he knows you as my wife.”
“Since you believe that lie, what are you going to do? There’s nothing I could say that would change your mind. You cheated on our wedding day, but this will never make up for what you did. I hate you, Asher.”
“Fine. If you want me to admit to f*****g Hazel and if I enjoyed it, I did,” he snarled, and my chest tightened. “I enjoyed every second with her before you walked in and ruined it for me.”
“How long?” I asked, feeling a lump in my throat that prevented my voice from being loud.
It felt as if someone was pushing a rock down my throat, and I couldn’t scream, though everything in me wanted to scream and yank his body against the wall.
“How long?” He repeated the question, tilting his neck as if he were confused.
“How long have you been sleeping with her?”
“Don’t ask me that question when you’ve been sucking Wayne’s d**k under my roof! How long have you been sleeping with him?!” He sneered. “Did you f**k him in the elevator?”
I looked at him and said nothing. There was nothing I could say when he clearly believed his mother and sister over me.
I also didn’t want him to think I was as shameless as he was to admit to enjoying f*****g someone else on our wedding day.
“When my mother told me you weren’t different from all the girls who slept with their bosses so they could get their money, I didn’t believe her. I thought she didn’t like you, but now I see what she meant. It was my fault for being attracted to my assistant.”
“Or maybe you have a thing for your assistants, Asher. No wonder your d**k was between Hazel’s legs a few hours ago. Gosh,” I frowned. “You disgust me.”
“What do you say about yourself?” He leaned closer, his breath brushing over my skin.
My heart broke at the thought of losing the man I loved so much. We had so much planned and had a baby on the way, but after what he did, I wasn’t sure I could forgive him.
“Your mother and sister called me a w***e, and you said nothing about that. You let them degrade my image, and you believed their lies over my truth.”
“Are you calling my mother a liar?”
“I want a divorce, Asher.”
His face changed, and he leaned back, scoffing. “You cheat and lie to me and want to get away with it? That won’t happen, Lana. You’re my wife and will remain my wife until I say so! If you plan to elope with your lover, I won’t let you!” He turned around and walked to the door, slamming it behind him.
I took a deep breath and placed my hand on my lower stomach, telepathically telling my baby not to worry because we were leaving for good.
I locked the door, took my traveling bags from the closet, and packed them so it would be easier to leave tomorrow morning.
When I was done, I sat on the bed and called my father. The last time we talked eight months ago, he was angry at me, threatening to disown me if I didn’t return home.
So now, I was ready to do everything he wanted me to do, including marrying Knox, who would be the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack after his father. He said it would strengthen both packs.
He didn’t want me to marry someone from the human world because it would weaken our pack.
Though I knew he would be furious that I was pregnant with a human child, he was my father and would forgive me.
“Estelle.”
“Evening, father. I want to apologize for everything that happened when I left home. Please, I want to come home. I will do everything that you want me to do.”
“Your brother, Nolan, got married to Alpha Micah’s daughter. He has done what I wanted, so you don’t have to apologize. You have no place in our pack anymore.”
