•ESTELLE•
“I have done everything you wanted me to do, Dan. I’ve let you humiliate and degrade me to an ordinary maid. So, can you let me go to see my father?” I begged on my knees while he was preparing to attend Knox’s wedding.
“Ugh, Estelle. You can be a nuisance sometimes. How many times must I tell you your father no longer wants you? You heard him when he came with your brother. You’re no longer his daughter, sweetheart.”
“Can I at least see a friend?”
“A friend?” He turned and looked at me, frowning as if I had said something to offend him. “You’re coming with me to the wedding, and you’ll behave, or else, you’ll go back to the pigsty,” he answered as he smoothed his hair.
Just when I was about to get up and head to my room to bathe, Dan grabbed my wrist and leaned me against the wall, lifting my dress.
“Before I attend that silly wedding, I want to feel you as my wife.” He grabbed my shoulder and turned me to the wall before he took off my underwear and thrust inside me from behind.
I gasped when he slid inside and looked at the rotating lampstand near his bed. I watched it until I heard his groans and he pulled out of me.
“Get lost,” he snarled as he fixed his pants, and when I got in my room, I leaned my back against the door and cried.
After spending the entire night with the pigs, unable to sleep because of their growling, I was tired and sick.
I slid my hand to my lower stomach, imagining that I was still carrying my baby, and let out a bitter cry.
“Hurry, Estelle!” Dan screamed as he banged the door, and I quickly wiped my tears and went to the bathroom.
I walked out, and before I could close the door behind me, a hot slap landed on my cheek.
“Don’t dare keep me waiting next time, do you understand?” he growled.
“Yes,” I nodded before I followed him to the driveway and got into his car.
When we got to the wedding ceremony, Dan instructed me to stay in the car and not make a noise.
When they were gone, I slipped my cell phone from my pocket and called Lydia. She was the only person I could think of who might help me escape from Dan.
“Estelle? Where are you?”
“I’m in Dan's car. I need you to come and get me before the wedding is over. Can you do that?”
“Girl, there are guards outside Dan’s car. I’m still in the parking lot because I was waiting to see you when I saw Dan walk in. What’s going on? Did he lock you inside?”
“Yes,” I groaned, leaning back in the seat. “If I don’t get away from him tonight, he will kill me.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll make a plan with my brother, and—”
“What’s wrong?” I sat up, my heart racing.
“There was a commotion in the aisle, and I found Knox pinning Dan to the ground when I went to look. I wonder what happened,” she scoffed.
“He did what?” I scolded when I remembered his rejection because I was an omega.
He made it clear to me he could never be with a woman like me. He did it, though he knew we might never get mated to anyone again.
“I’ll call you back, Estelle. Don’t worry, I’ll get you away from Dan, even if it’s the last thing I do.”
‘Estelle...’ someone whispered, and I jumped in my seat.
“Hello? Is anyone there?”
“Open the door, Kriel.” Dan’s voice sounded outside the door, and he huffed when he hopped inside and sat beside me.
He had a bruised eye and a ruffled T-shirt. He wouldn’t even look at me, and I chuckled but quickly covered my mouth.
“Something funny, Estelle?” He snarled.
“No, sir.”
“Drive home, Jake,” he instructed the driver as he wiped his mouth.
On our way home, I kept looking out the window, giggling inside that Knox was kind enough to teach him a lesson, though I didn’t know what led to their fight.
When the car had stopped, Dan hopped out and dragged me out, mumbling something under his breath, and when we got to his bedroom, he shoved me inside and slammed the door.
In my mind, I thought he would ask me to strip naked so he could have his way with me before taking care of his wounds that were slowly healing.
“How dare you embarrass me in front of our pack and Knox’s pack?!” He sneered as he slapped me so hard I stumbled against his study table. “Did you sleep with him?”
My heart raced at his question, and I felt my stomach forming a knot. He would punish me if I told him Knox was my rejected mate.
“I didn’t sleep with him.”
“How dare you lie to me?!” He slapped me again, and I fell on the floor.
‘You’re stronger than this, Estelle. Fight him.’ The strange voice whispered in my head again, and I groaned, trying to get up from the floor.
“This will be the last time you ever touch me, Dan. I’m not your slave or punching bag. I am Estelle Fenwick!” I retaliated as I faced him, and my hands clenched.
“You’re nothing but my worthless wife. Who do you think would want to marry a useless thing like you? You wouldn’t survive out there without me, b***h. You’re nothing but an omega,” he snarled, leaning toward me.
I felt fueled by something stronger than I was, and I launched toward him, with my claws out and teeth hissing as I grabbed him and slammed him against the wall.
“Don’t you ever touch me again, or I’ll rip you into pieces!” I hissed before I realized I was holding him up and dropped him.
“What’s happening to me?” I shook as I looked at my bloodied hands with claws.
‘Hi, Estelle. My name is Ember. I’ve waited so long to meet you, but now that I’m here, no one will ever hurt you.’
